Graveyard Keeper [PC, XBone]

Post by Sly Boots » Tue Aug 14, 2018 6:02 pm

Unfortunately looks as though Phantom Doctrine is a bit disappointing, so this is going to be my next purchase I think.

Essentially it's Stardew Valley, if instead of running a lovely farm in a cute town, you're in charge of renovating a cemetery and everything is a bit spooky and unsavoury. I think it looks great.

No price set as yet but here's the store page:

Also one of the Youtubers I follow did a vid on the alpha:

Have been looking forward to this for quite a while, can't wait!

I've had my eye on this for a while too. It looks pretty good, but I'm concerned that it just won't stand up to Stardew when it comes to having such brilliantly simplistic and refined mechanics.

Stardew was my secret guilty pleasure. I actually got pretty immersed in it! This looks pretty great, will keep my eye on it.

I've had my eye on this as well, Steam have also just pinged me a 25% off voucher so obviously someone wants me to buy this.

I've heard lots of people saying they've got those. As yet though I haven't :(

Seeing as you can't buy it until this evening anyway I might hold off in case I get sent one, would be nice.

Did you own Punch Club? Seems that might be one of the factors behind people getting the discount voucher.

No, sadly not. Oh well, will have to wait to see what price it launches at. If it's anything around the £20 mark I won't mind paying that.

$20 is the price I believe so that usually translates to around £15 I think.

Snapped it up with the coupon as well. First time one of these coupons was actually useful as well!

I'll get round to playing it later after my ED session. REally enjoyed Stardew Valley but this has a rather horrific humour behind it too, with the choices in how to depose the bodies :D

Only put in an hour or so so far, but early tip. In the tutorial you're given a few 'technologies', ie stuff you can build, as you progress. However after that you're meant to purchase them through the Tab-menu using tokens you earn through doing tasks like chopping wood etc. It's not like SV where you level up as you do stuff and are then rewarded with new blueprints at the end of the day.

Played a bit myself, it's very much Stardew Valley in a different setting. My biggest bugbear so far is that you get given different quests, but there doesn't appear to be anywhere to keep track of them.

I only caught this in the Alpha gameplay vid i posted above so I don't know if it's still in the release version, but I think if you hit tab then go to the relationships screen (or whatever it's called), each quest is logged there beside the person who issued it.
