Finished it a few months ago and enjoyed it. You can pretty much move at your own pace on most maps with the exception of one where shit goes bonkers. The only real issue I had was with the dialogue with the other characters, they would talk over each other and I had to turn on the subtitles. Fun game though.

The 2nd DLC should be good - it's the last new content for the game so doesn't look like it sold very well(plus new Metro gme in development). The first DLC was story heavy but, as a game I thought was poor. The new DLC is an open-world map - should be more fun - and quite big.

Finished the first overworld map, the Volga area, and still really enjoying it. As with the other Metro games though I prefer it when you're infiltrating a base of human enemies as I still find the mutants an utter chore to fight for the most part - with their speed, jerky movements and mission to get up in your grill in the shortest possible time, my reactions and aim aren't sufficient to take them down before I get swarmed, and in a game with very limited ammo I find a pack of 4-5 watchmen can make me run out, and more than once I've had to resort to bashing them over the head with an empty gun.

And on that note, I was appalled to discover I can't chuck the utterly useless pneumatic pea-shooter they lumber you with. Perhaps it's me, as I've read people online saying they playing with it almost exclusively, but I find the need to constantly pump it up in order for it to produce anything other than a wet fart too bothersome to persist with. I know it's silent, but I've had much greater success with a silenced revolver I've tricked out with a sniper stock and telescopic sight to make it basically a silent sniper rifle. However I'll probably have to drop it, as my other gun - of the three you're allowed to carry - is a shotgun, because I found it was the only thing I could dispatch the mutants with reliably. But I keenly feel the lack of an automatic weapon when my stealth efforts fail and everything inside a base kicks off.

That was a lot of moaning, wasn't it? I am enjoying it, honest

The pea-shooter gets multiple upgrades and becomes very powerful. It's great for nailing unsuspecting human enemies after a bit.

S'a good game, although I don't know why you'd pay Β£40 odd for it when you can buy a gamepass for a few quid a month and play it there.

I lost interest in the game soon as it pulled that shit. I will wait on a steep sale on it instead etc.
