Well in this case it's an additional mode right? So you are still getting all the base game, plus this extra mode in four months.

In fairness again to DICE and EA. They are shipping more with BFV than BF1 which was also a dribble title with DLC. I loved BF1 as I alluded earlier. BFV has a lot to live up to in my mind. The release of a BR mode wasn't something I was all that bothered about. I'll be playing conquest and operations etc 90% of the time. BR is a nice addition that I'll dabble with unless it particularly stands out.

Urgh I'm firmly in the min specs there on some aspects. Mind you the beta ran great for me on high and ultra settings.

First title I am aware of supporting ray tracing - looks like I will have to pick it up :-k

It's very good this. It's got niggles here and there but it's very good. Took awhile to get properly onto it but it's worth it.

If you liked Operations in BF1 you'll love Grand Operations in this.

It's out on early access for anyone with origin access. It's bit complicated how they've staggered the release.

I actually couldn't tell you when it's out officially, I think it's the 15th.

This is bloody brilliant fun. Can't criticise it for much at all. Maybe there are a few less maps than I'd want but they are coming. The gunplay is just great once you zero it. The atmosphere playing it is amazing because of the sound, particularly the aircraft. Had a real nice moment earlier on the way up a hill to cap a flag, where a low flying spitfire flew just over our heads and straffed the enemy positions ahead of us. The sound of the engines and then the gunfire was fantastic.

Best in series so far for me.

Also building fortifications.

I thought this would be a bit of a gimmicky feature but in fairness they've made it a really useful thing to do in the game. It's not immediately obvious how to do it though. Pressing T brings up your toolbox interactions and just looking around will show you where you can build a variety of things.

Fuck it, I'm buying it today. Can get it of Base.com for about e55 which isn't too bad.

Silly as it may sound, I feel a bit odd about wanting to play BF1 today considering the day that's in it. But it is just a game so I shouldn't.

Interested to hear the thoughts mate.

Sadly Mack WTB rips it apart. Mainly for the usual SJW and how it doesn't feel "like WW2". I had concerns for that but playing it at least for me does feel like WW2. The nostalgia that haters are commenting on can't exist, those epic beach landing scenes that many trout on about have been done before and DICE can't replicate those because then the unoriginal tag gets thrown at them. They are setting the game in different parts of the war and yeah there are too many women in this for what it was but it's a fucking game not a historical documentary on WW2.

As a game it's great fun with new things and solid shooting. Looks beautiful even on my minimum specs system, runs great and requires thought.
