People like to scream and shout at each other before asking why they said this or that nowadays. Also the theory that the low sales is everyone is dying to play Red Dead 2 a lot more than what they feel is a re-skin, more COD style gameplay. I never played the first one or found it that interesting myself when watching people play it myself.

I will probably pass on this beta and wait for the full game.

I'll stick to my usual 'play the beta realise I'm pish then dont buy the full game' system that's been working relatively well for me over the past 10 years.

In other BFV news apparently DICE aren't developing the Battle Royale part of the game according to Ben Walke the global community lead for EA's Star Wars games.

The answer why you are rubbish is found in that paragraph :)

If you do buy it in sure others here will also and we can get together on discord or whatever and have some mega banter while teaching you.

I'll probably try the beta just to see whether it's worth considering in the future.

I'll try the beta and see how I feel about getting it on release.

If a few of us pick it up, it'd be great to finally get some easily organised forum games together again, especially now we're all in the same Discord channel so we've no excuse.

I definitely have it. I don't have the discord thing though.

As far as the "company" aspect goes I believe that the platoon feature that BF1 brought it crosses over into this. The one I made for PW is still extant. I will need to see if I can change the name or just make a new one when this comes out.

Right, so "Companies" are this game's guild system. I must admit I didn't get that from watching the video and now I feel a bit dense. I thought the guy was talking about either the per-game squads or just your personal progress.

While I'd love to be a part of a Gamers' Arms group ("Gamers' Arms' Armed Gamers"? GAAG?), I can't really see myself buying it at release. Maybe a month or two down the line when the game has been thoroughly checked for EA bullshittery.

Assuming the game is any good, I can't see our interest in it as a group dying out in less than a month.

Perhaps, but aren't we famously shit for getting multiplayer games together?

Indeed, fables throughout the land recount how notoriously shite we are at playing video games together.

But those are the times of yore! These are greener pastures and many a foe lies over the hills, just waiting for The Gamers Arms to march forth and conquer!

In all seriousness, if a number of people here are getting together with any frequency I'll reconsider my stance, although I'm still wary of the bullshittery.
