Life is Strange 2 [PC, PS4, XBone]

Post by Mantis » Mon Aug 20, 2018 10:15 pm

Looking forward to this quite a lot. I played the first game and prequel then sat and watched my partner play through both of them again to see how different it would be with her making the decisions. Very well put together games, and the little Captain Spirit preview that came out not long ago was a good taster of whats to come with the sequel.

It's a quaint little series, but it actually gets quite dark at times. I love it.

Weirdly I just bought the first one today, was about £3 I think in today's specials on Steam. I don't really know much about it other than a couple of peeps (probably you and Dj as well I think?) have said good things about it in the past.

First one was epic. It was one of those games I had to be persuaded to buy (by my youngest son). I will certainly buy this one.

I think you will really like it Sly, it is a good game and probably one of the best of those types of games.

I think so, I'm not quite sure why I've overlooked it until now!

I was going to start it last night as I think I'm done now with Graveyard Keeper, but it was a bit late after the football had finished. Might give it a go later today.

I liked it, but never finished it. I was almost put off by a lot of cringey 'fellow teen' dialogue at the start though. Actually, it's there throughout TBH.

I'm enjoying it so far (90 minutes in), although I haven't really done a lot except potter around talking to people, dropping paint on a bully and using my superhero time-bending ability to convince a girl that I do actually know her name even though I don't.

Typical college stuff, really.

It's good, will keep playing.

That's pretty much the core of the first two and a half episodes of the game, abusing your powers to manipulate people so you become popular. It does branch out from that though.

The diary entries were particularly bad for "fellow teen" style writing, but overall I loved the first game. Glad I tried the first episode free because usually it's not the sort of game I would look at.

Finished the first episode. I do like it a lot. I'm slightly traumatised that I couldn't save the bird, though. I couldn't work out what to do so I went downstairs in case I could find anything to help, then when I went back up it was dead and I wasn't able to rewind :(

I'm pretty sure that you can save the bird, don't you open a window or something?

I did that, but nothing happened. And I couldn't interact with it after that apart from to close it or look at it, and could only look at the bird. I spent ages combing the rooms upstairs for a box I could put it in...

... wait. I was meant to reverse time with the window open so it didn't go smack into the glass, wasn't I?

Dammit -_-

That sounds about right, yep. Letting it die in episode 1 means you don't get the sequence of events where it's downstairs in the following episodes too. I believe not triggering those stops you from being able to obtain the true ending for the game. Boom, butterfly effect. ¬_¬
