Yeah, take the time they need, didn't they push back W3 at least once to give it extra polish? Certainly paid off.

It seems quite far along already according to this interview:
Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for at least six years and its team recently hit a major milestone: The entire game is playable from start to finish. It doesn't have all of the proper assets, playtesting or bug fixes in place, but seeing the story come together is a critical step in the development process, Borzymowski said.

It does look incredible, almost overwhelming.

But I've already accepted I won't be building a gaming rig again which would do it justice. I look forward to reading about all your exploits when the time comes though. :D

Aye after the video the first thing that came to my mind. GPU upgrade time then but maybe they'll have it running just as smooth and gorgeous for current pc :)

Oh in the mad gibberish before the reveal on twitch they had gog game codes in it that people spotted and redeemed. Some very eagle eyed folk!

I think it looks good, but I'm not blown away. The UI looks a bit of a mess and the language is trying too hard to be edgy. Obviously this could all change, but based off what I've seen I'm not blown away like most people seem to be. I do like the look though.

Remember that it's all a work in progress. The UI for module where you hack the enemy network by plugging into a random goon looked very messy, I seriously doubt that will make it into the final product in its current form.

Can't say I thought the dialogue trying that hard, it was fairly on point considering the setting, I think. I like how they're clearly going for a darker overall atmosphere that doesn't pull any punches in terms of how adult it is.

I'll wait for you guys to try it out before I jump in.

I have a feeling my first 48 minutes of the game are going to look exactly the same as this trailer. As in that seemed really linear. Too many times it also looked like control was taken away from my character.

Maybe I'll be proved wrong but you guys will be my canaries.

Edit: Wow, reading some other forum and the fanboys are strong on this already. No-one's played it properly yet.

It's more the liberal use of swearwords than anything else. Just grates on me that developers think that if they are making a mature game that means they have to throw in swearwords left right and centre.

Given that you're a fairly low level mercenary doing jobs for corrupt officials and mixing with drug taking gang members, the liberal use of swearing seems pretty fair to me. In the dark, gritty, criminal corners of the real world people tend to swear a lot too. There's plenty of other stuff that helps shape this game as clearly targeting a mature tone, swearing is just part of the package.

Yeah I think this is going to be a 2020 release would love to see it next year though. It must be a huge game though it's already in development for 5 years now.

Considering that my job gives me some fairly interesting insights into those kinds of people, yes I've encountered my fair share of it. Obviously they aren't all like that, but a video game portraying some drug abusing cyber-enhanced arms dealers with foul language doesn't seem that out of place to me.
