Too strong, it seems -_-

Found a pre-order on CDKeys.com for £25, that'll do.

First impressions are pretty good, I love the atmosphere and style of the world. The way the game tells you your hit chance depending on where you move is just the best thing ever and all turn based games should do it. Had a few rounds of combat and it seems that the game is very much about trying to thin the crowds out before engaging otherwise you will get run over.

Yep, played the opening half hour or so until you get back to The Ark. Nothing too challenging yet but have spent a bit of time before each encounter perfecting my positioning while in stealth and picking off any enemies on patrol. Good game, enjoying it.

Lee, I noticed in Mack's video he said GMG has it for £23 currently, that's a couple of pounds less than I paid at CDkeys, and I think that's the cheapest around right now.

Interesting that despite playing an xcom 2 iron man campaign alongside, this feels far more unforgiving. Got downed and was within one turn of losing Dux in the next area after you leave the Ark. Missing consecutive 75% chance shots reeeally hurts -_-

Took an alternative path after you leave the cabin of the guy you're looking for, ended up stumbling across a group of 6 tough enemies, several 10hp and one 16hp plus a healbot. Very nearly left them to it and sneaked away, tail between legs, but thought I'd give it a go. Set up an ambush around them, launched it with a grenade, molotov and rooting the medbot to the ground away from the rest of his group, and managed to beat them only suffering 3hp in total. Was pretty chuffed with that! :D

Man, it doesn't take long for enemy health to start ramping up, does it? I just stumbled across a group with a guy on 26hp

My best gun does 6 damage (8 if it crits, though with a 5% chance I'm not holding my breath), so already bricking it.

Playing on normal as well.

The way this battle panned out is why I'm really liking this game.

I ended up skirting around that tough group and exploring the edges of the map. I found one enemy patrolling the outskirts and took him out silently, then further along found a hut on a hill containing a couple more, which again I was able to take out one at a time without raising the alarm. This hut happened to give a great viewpoint over the place where the tough enemies were encamped. I'd invested a bit in buying a long-range rifle and levelling it up, so stationed my sniper at the top, my tank in full cover at ground level, and when one enemy just wandered within in range initiated combat. It was still pretty tough and my tank was set on fire twice and within a couple of hp of being downed, but the high vantage point meant my snipers were able to get high-accuracy shots on the enemy and focus them down one after the other.

I feel certain that had I engaged at ground level, even if finding good ambush positions, I'd have probably wiped there, but just shows the value of good tactics and recon :D

I picked this up, as well. Only a couple hours in, on normal difficulty. I can see how I'd want to play this again, on a higher difficulty, since I'd know much more about the weapons and proper tactics. For now, I'm bungling along and really enjoying it.
