Set in an ice-bound region of planet 4546B, after the events of the original game, Below Zero will offer a new chapter in the Subnautica universe. Very exciting, Subnautica is one of, if not the, best game I've played this year and am very much up for more.

I haven't looked at this yet but I'm assuming it's not set in the lush tropical sea planet of the original game?

Has anyone tried the original in VR mode? This one has somehow passed me by but I think I'll give it a go.

I'd heard mixed about the VR version with some liking and some a bit meh about it. I don't remember specifically the claims for either side but I did get the distinct impression it could do with more work in general.

Well I'm just replaying bioshock 2 so subnautica would make an ideal gaming progression with or without the VR . Because they're both underwater, you see.

It's fine for a wee while to see the sights but I couldn't get on with it to actually play the game. The controls just felt all wrong.

I did try it when I first got my Rift, but there was a controls glitch (it was something to do with the inventory) that made the game unplayable that didn't get solved for at least several months between my two attempts to play, so I decided to wait for the final release version. I'll get around to it at some point.

Oh and there's a mod for VR that sorts out the last few niggles (doesn't fix the controls though)

I decided t to try it out in VR and really enjoyed it to be honest, even bearing in mind the irritating HUD. It's certainly an ideal title for enjoying VR levels of immersion (not as good as DCS though). I'll try applying the fix and see if that improves it further.
