50gb's on the larger side, but I don't think it's a ridiculous figure any more.

Not when you compare it to the sodding 117gb of GoW4 anyway. ¬_¬

I did consider going back and seeing again how big that was, but I couldn't remember which thread it was in

If it was something I was really into it wouldn't be a problem, but for me that's a 10-hour download and not sure a faint, idle curiosity will do it in this case.

50GB seems standard for these kinds of title now, think AC: Odyssey was around that.

My reaction is probably indicative of the sorts of games I've been playing predominantly over the past year or two. I can't even remember the last AAA title I bought, it might well have been ME: Andromeda (which was around that size).

Like I said, if it's something I'm really into it's not something I would worry about, but it's enough to put me off something I'm barely curious about.

Do you have a really slow connection because 10 hours to download 50GBs is pretty horrific.

It's as fast as we can get in Basingstoke, but yeah, it's not great. Peaks at 3mb/s download on Steam.

It might be a bit less than 10 hours since we upgraded about a year ago, but it'll certainly be 6 or 7 I think.

Ouch, 3mbs is not great.

Despite what I said before, was starting to think I might give this a go... probably because of the dearth of interesting stuff being released currently.

I've seen people saying the action is very similar to Andromeda, and you know what? I really liked the action in Andromeda. Say what you like about the rest of the game, for a lot of the time it was a lot of fun to play. I'd definitely be up for more of that.

Then I watched a preview video of wandering around a hub area talking to NPCs and... yeah, it looks like the dialogue, voice acting and animations are all like Andromeda as well, and that is much less of a good thing. Watching the 7-minute vid I actually found myself zoning out and staring into space while boring characters said boring things in a boring voice.

Oh dear.

I guess I'll go back to waiting for something good.

Have you played Yakuza Zero?

I'm going to give it another try, played some of the alpha, and then depending on how I feel I might sign up to the EA Plus thing for a month just to play it. I'm much more interested in The Division 2 although I'm a bit concerned that the environments are rather bland.

Not that interested in Yakuza, I understand it's good just not sure it's my thing.

I did just pick up Metro Last Light Redux for a couple of quid though - I bounced off Metro 2033 but I'm determined to like the series if it kills me - so I'll probably get stuck into that when I'm finished with LiS Before the Storm.

The EA sub for a month or two is an interesting idea actually :-k

What's putting you off Yakuza just out of interest?

I hate to generalise, but I've never really enjoyed Japanese games or the setting, similarly have never been the least bit into anime.

I've bounced off a few Final Fantasies down the years...

I am the same, and I bounced off Yakuza. Initially I was kinda intrigued, but that didn't last. 6 hours played, highly doubtful I will make it to 7.

Kept wishing it was Sleeping Dogs 2

Fair enough, although I have to say it's massively superior to Sleeping Dogs. :)
