Nordic have announced that they have picked up another dormant IP in the form of Kingdoms of Amalur.
I'm sure Prey would be really jazzed if he was still around.
I really liked the game, but I'm not sure how much of that was down to the actual world and how much was down to the systems and the art. I suppose the art is part of the world and picking up the assets as well allows Nordic to hue closer to what Amalur was.

I remember having a great time with this. Everything was just so smoothly put together. It also had the best weaponsmithing in a game I ever saw.
Perhaps a tad unremarkable in parts, but I think I put 60 hours into it. Can't believe that was over 6 years ago now.

Mr Annoyed and Proud of it.

I've bounced off Amalur a few times, but I'd definitely give a new game a fair chance.

The action and gameplay was pretty good and basically kept me pushing through it, despite the fact I thought the story was pretty bad, most of the quests (at least in my recollection) were a bit fetchy and it was about 20 hours too long. I think the devs wanted to develop an MMO originally - or they wanted to eventually craft one from this world - so we ended up pretty much with a single-player version of that.
