Yup. It's pretty bad. Every few days I have another FO76 video show up on my YT recommends, detailing yet another fuck-up or act of bastardry by Bethesda.

I considered diving in if (when) it drops to a tenner just to see how bad it really is, because I have a soft spot for truly terrible games and films. But I'm not sure I can be bothered even to do that, nor do I want to validate this calamity in any way that gives money to Bethesda. If I could buy it for a tenner knowing that Bethesda wouldn't get a penny, I'd probably go for it and inevitably get bored after half an hour and regret wasting a tenner.
So in that respect, thanks for making it so bad that I've saved money, Bethesda!
Then to throw in Christmas themed micro transactions for emotes and santa outfits that are ludicrous expensive for what it is.
Noted Youtube game complainer YongYea did a video on these.
For those who don't have ten minutes to spend on Fallout vitriol, the criticism is this:
-There are three examples of microtransactions given. One emotes pack, one set of santa-themed cosmetic items, and one large Red Rocket statue.
-These have debuted at their discounted price. They have not been sold at their full list price, making the discounts a lie. This would be very illegal if done by a UK retailer.
-These "micro" transactions are ludicrously priced. To buy all three, at the cheapest level of microtransaction currency, would cost as much as the game is currently selling for; $40.
-The emotes pack does not contain in-game character animations.
-Wait, what?
-I said the emotes pack does not contain in-game character animations. The 12 emotes are in fact the animated gifs that appear above your character's head. You are effectively paying around £12 for 12 animated gifs.
-But... but that's £1 per gif.
-Yes.
-What the fuck?
I've only found out about YongYea through this sag
I wouldn't bother with his videos, he's an even bigger troll than Jim Sterling is and just as right wing.

I can't say I like YongYea, his videos only get recommended to me because of Jim Sterling's. I wouldn't brand Sterling a troll (his presentation style is a bit trollish perhaps, but his content is well thought out if monotonous), and if he's right-wing I don't think it comes across in his Youtube videos (I don't follow him work anywhere else).
I know, not something I would have picked up from his vids (that I've seen), tbh.

Also, how right-wing?
Because if you slightly lean to the left or right you're pretty much moderate regardless, and it would have absolutely no relevance to videogame commentary either way.

Seeing as the guy is a self confessed bi-sexual who frequently rails against big business practices in gaming, is out spoken about womens rights in said industry, right wing is certainly not his leaning. Bit of a lefty twat at times maybe, but not right wing.

His original persona was based around a dictator and he still uses fascist iconography.
Being bisexual and anti-capitalist doesn't automatically make you left wing.
To be honest he might have cleaned up his act now, but when he was starting out on his own and before when he was at Destructoid he had some pretty bad views especially around sexism.

It's pretty obviously a parody mate, done for comical effect. Have read around a bit about him and he's said as much, while his detractors regularly call him out for being a SJW.
