Women are being deleted from the franchise. TW now stands for Tonsa Willies. Please update your reviews.

I Googled "Tonsa" thinking it was some new buzzword I'd missed.

I'm not sure what I really want from a new TW game, to be quite honest.

Although honestly I've no idea what I want from TW either. The last TW game I enjoyed was Shogun 2, and everything since then has had a campaign map system that I don't like. The battles are still fine, though.
I think games like Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis have shown me a world of strategic depth that I find difficult to turn back from now. I like Civ games for something a bit simpler, but TW lost it's way on the strategic side of things. The whole business with shared regional upgrades and armies being built around generals is messy, and (a petty but important thing) they never let you zoom out far enough. Sometimes you need to see the whole board. And for crying out loud, they need to let armies move more than an inch across the map each turn. It's maddening.

With their next proper Total War game due out early next year I think it's too early to announce another mainline TW game. It's more likely that it is the next game in their Total War Saga series.

True, that'd be nice. I don't know if I feel that I need MW3 anytime soon though. Granted, I've just finished a major CK2 phase (and before that, EU4). I've not played the Warhammer ones but I always liked the strategic lore of WH.Snowy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 10:58 amEasy - Medieval Total War 3The Jackal wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 7:01 pmI'm not sure what I really want from a new TW game, to be quite honest.

er...yeah - and to think I turned down CA second interview to be the Total War brand manager
I would not mind Medieval 3 except for the fact that Thrones Of Britannia feels like a Medieval game anyway, filling in that gap.
I am always up for a new TW game. Warhammer is the only series I have not played. Hated Empire, I might revisit it one day but idea of lining up men and watching them shoot just got boring

Your comment about CK2 in another thread made me go back to it again having bounced off it a million times and bugger me if the basics didn't click! As I suspected all along, I fucking love it. So yeah, thanks for that dudeThe Jackal wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 11:05 pmTrue, that'd be nice. I don't know if I feel that I need MW3 anytime soon though. I didn't really get on with Warhammer, each race that would be vaguely interesting to play felt gimped - you HAD to play them a certain way, and that just sucked the fun out of it for me. Plus making it more about characters didn't work - certainly not like CK2 where I have recently foiled a plot by my son, backed by my wife, to have me killed. Wife divorced and son executed. History will not remember me kindly.
Also @Wrathbone, I feel the same way. The maps from Shogun 2 on just don't do it for me. None of them is as perfect as the MTW2 one, the pinnacle of the series for me. I would be happy with a redux tbh, just bring it up to date graphically.

Snowy, have you heard about or tried the Game of Thrones mod for CKII? It's bloody brilliant. In fact, I've only ever played that and never the vanilla base game ¬_¬Snowy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 4:20 pmYour comment about CK2 in another thread made me go back to it again having bounced off it a million times and bugger me if the basics didn't click!
