Ok.... the remastered one is exactly as I remember it looking! The "old footage" is a lie!

I'm probably in a minority of one here, but I skipped every cutscene so what you're discussing is lost on me.

In fact, I think I've skipped every cutscene in every game I've ever played. What have I been missing?!

Blizzard don't have any genuine talent left in their writing department to create a legitimate new IP with an engaging story,
I'd argue they never really had any talent in that department. Blizzard are good at a lot of things, telling a good story is not one of them.

I'm quite fond of the story and various writing around all the NPCs and side quests in Diablo 2. That's about it though from Blizzard.

There’s some good stuff in the Warcraft lore.

They must have been doing something right for me to remember it.

I agree Jez.
Arthas
Illidan
Thrall

All strong characters with memorable stories, right up until their story reached it's conclusion (In WotLK, TBC and Cataclysm respectively).

They brought Illidan back for the previous expansion, though I didn't play it and have no idea what the context was.

But yeah, I wouldn't say Blizzard were poor story-tellers exactly. Certainly in WoW there were some great stories; not just the main plots, but the smaller questlines too.

Legion was ok as WoW goes, but they trotted Illidan out so we could all have demon hunters as a class.
It was guff and remarkably unmemorable :)

Blizzard are changing Warcraft III to be more recognisable to players of WoW:

It sounds like it's more a visual change than anything, but it'd be nice to see the Culling of Stratholme map resemble the WoW instance.

So this is out then and everyone is all foaming at the mouth about it apparently.

Poor Blizzard just can't seem to catch a break these days.
