Another battle royale with zany characters? Yawn. I'm not overly keen on FPS games where the characters have power-ups and abilities, Overwatch has kind of killed that style for me entirely. Taking the wall running and double jump mobility mechanics out seems like a mistake to me too, they were what made Titanfall feel so satisfying to play.

The developers said they had double, triple jumping and wall running in at one point but it felt bad as you didn't know where people were coming from and killing you.
I just read that on Eurogamer's preview too. Surely that issue would come more down to how they design the maps more than anything, I certainly never felt like I had any issues on Titanfall, but then the maps were far more streamlined on those games; perhaps it doesn't translate over to an open battle royale style map.
Having it built around 3 man teams and with a respawn mechanic sounds quite interesting. I expect my little gaming squad will give it a go.
I'm having a lot of fun with this. It has the immediacy I want from a BR without the building of Fortnite and it's free so it's easier to get people into than Blackout was.
I tried it solo very briefly and quite enjoyed the general feel a lot too. The 3 man squads will be the big thing for me though as that's usually how many peeps I manage to reliably get together at weekends.
The overly zany stupid characters and humour that was in the trailer isn't quite as overbearing during actual gameplay. It's just a solid shooter with fun mechanics, interesting but not seemingly too overpowered abilities and some nice little refinements to the battle royale mechanics. Looking forward to trying more of it.
One of the best things the game does is the ping system being able to ping items places and enemies is great, it allows you to play with random people without having to resort to voice chat.
