Wrath: Aeon of Ruin

Post by Lee » Thu Mar 07, 2019 10:27 pm

So we have another old school shooter this time off the Quake 1 engine called Wrath : Aeon of Ruin. From 3D realms of all places with Killpixel and Quake scene vets :)

I'm liking this little retro revival trend that's starting up!

Dusk is another one i've added to my wishlist:

I'm not overly fussed on the retro style graphics, but the fast paced action shooter or arena shooter genre really needs to make a comeback. Everything strives for hyper realism nowadays and I miss the feeling of super rapid arcadey combat.

Came out in Early Access last night or the night before but anyways it was bought on the instant and played.

Love it and now with Amid Evil I shall await till it is finished to go back and play it all the way through.

Wow. That game looks great. I might even suspend my anti-3D philosophy in order to play it. ¬_¬
Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels

Not sure on what you mean did the same? Painkiller was a area filled shooter with a top notch engine to allow you fight humongous boss battles like Frankenstein's monster.

This is more inline with Quake with the levels and enemies.

Well know your saying all fps here, well old style ones :D

If you liked Painkiller should check out DUSK and AMID EVIL as well. Highly rated fun games :)
