Have to admit my heart sank just a little seeing Cara Ellison is the lead writer, wasn't really a fan of her work on RPS. Will keep an open mind, though.

I was going to say a countdown on Epic exclusive as well.

I have middling hopes it's good but Bloodlines barring the bugs is a title that most games look average for me. Also Paradox and if you know what they do to games with DLC has me somewhat concerned.

I've not played the first, but I suspect given that it was released some 15 years ago that this will be taken into account by the devs. I know the series' reputation though, and that's enough to get me interested.

Same - I know of it via PCG and that at the time, but otherwise I've not played it nor know anyone who has, etc.

Well, you know one who has at least, because I've played it through about half a dozen times. It's incredibly replayable as a few of the clans put a completely different spin on the gameplay, like the nosferatu who have to creep around in the sewers and cause panic and bedlam whenever they're spotted above ground, or my personal favourite the Malkavian, who are insane by design. Every single dialogue in the game is different, including some unique ones (like arguing with street signs ), and a lot of the characters give the equivalent of a sigh when they realise what they'll be speaking to for the next couple of minutes.

I replayed it last only last year and it still holds up if you guys want to give it a try now - it's Source engine so while it does look and play like an older game it's not hideous or anything. It's on sale on GOG right now for only £3.75 (75% off).

If you do, just make sure to download the unofficial fan-made patch (AFAIK there's no official one) and my advice would be to not bother with guns at all, as the shooting is shite (melee is fine though).

I've tried to play the first one a number of times but just hit sections that have turned me off.

I see the pre-order price is ridiculously high on Steam.

And already offering a season pass. The initial interest has went out the window for me. Might check it out if owners are saying good enough things about it but then later down the road when it's cheaper.

Bloodlines 2 Announced

Post by Paul » Mon Apr 01, 2019 7:35 am

I absolutely loved the original, so I'm looking forward to see what they do with this.

Pegged for a Q1 2020 release.

Thanks for moving the post. I did look for a preexisting one but in typical me fashion, skimmed and didn't see anything. Derp.

Anyway, really excited for this!
