Borderlands 3
Re: Borderlands 3
There's a big Borderlands event happening in LA right now, and it has come with gameplay reveals.
Key new things:
-All characters now get three skills, though most will only get to use one at a time.
-Most guns have either an alt fire mode or a swappable primary. Some guns will get two swappable damage types.
-Knee slides. Apparently they're the new big thing that every game needs to have.
-Radiation is a new damage type; it makes enemies explode when killed and will irradiate other nearby enemies.

Re: Borderlands 3
Think it looks pretty good and they have made some good quality of life changes.
Re: Borderlands 3
What quality of life changes are you referring to? I think my biggest problem with BL2 was the inventory system which felt a bit clunky, and not really designed for a mouse and keyboard. It doesn't look like that's really changed much.
I'm a little concerned that this will feel more like an expansion to BL2 rather than a new game. It doesn't look particularly different, which is more to do with the art style than a lack of progress I think, and the gameplay looks identical. Alt fire modes will be nice, but I'm not sure they'll really feel different to just switching weapon - perhaps they'll make weapon switching slightly slower to make alt fires more important.

I haven't played a game in well over a year now, but watching that video it's given me my first little pang of interest I've had in ages. I just loved BL/BL2 - plus I'm one of those 'weirdos' who adores them as single player games.
I just might re-enter the hobby for a bit and get this when it comes out.

Re: Borderlands 3
Stuff like the map, having the alt-fire modes, the skill changes, the movement, instanced loot, having a place where all the loot you missed ends up. Nothing they have done is revolutionary but all the little things are good improvements on what was already a great game.Raid wrote: βThu May 02, 2019 10:59 amWhat quality of life changes are you referring to? You're going to get it on EGS?

Re: Borderlands 3
I'd be saying the same if it weren't an Epic Store timed exclusive. Hopefully there'll be some more discussion as to whether it's actually even safe to register with the place prior to BL3's release.
Re: Borderlands 3
Yeah, if it looks like security issues have been mostly improved by then I'd have no problem getting it on EGS. Unless I feel it's too pricey on release & I end up waiting for it to be a bit cheaper.
Re: Borderlands 3
Really? Aw fuck.
I may have to break my boycott for that one.

Re: Borderlands 3
Wait the 6 months for it to come to steam.
Think I'll be skipping it altogether myself.
