I played as Zero but to be honest I didn't find many of the skills in Borderlands 2 to be that great and with the passing of time I think they probably feel even worse now so I'm not surprised you are struggling to find one you like. The class system was always the weakest part of Borderlands 2 I think.
Glad it's not just me! I really enjoyed playing as Brick in BL1, just going into berserker mode and beating everything into submission with fists... there wasn't a boss in the game I couldn't take down that way. I miss not having something like that in the second one.

I think I said before, when it comes to single player - BL2 was the better game overall, but BL1 had the slightly better classes.

Co-op I'm not sure about. I've heard a lot of good things about BL2 co-op class match-ups though.

First play through was with the gunserker, you could akimbo 2 weapons as special power. Wasn't much use really. Next time was with Gaige and her robot, found her fun to use.

I have always struggled with the classes that have a 'pet'. I played Gaige for a while too, and her robot becomes very powerful as you pile in the points, but it amounted to pressing a button to have something else kill everyone, which I felt kinda robbed the game of it's main point.

Yeah, that's the problem I had with most of the classes, and it was even worse in the Pre-Sequel. Fully automated class skills aren't fun.

Have to say I'm having more fun as Maya, like you guys say having a bot run off and kill everything for you isn't that interesting gameplay-wise. I'm also enjoying the siren's phaselock skill more, it feels more tactical and has got me out of a number of scrapes. Now in my mid-20s level-wise I'm starting to unlock some interesting powers for it as well.

Maya's decent, although in single player she needs her skill tree to be very carefully managed - especially in playthrough 2 onwards. I found BL2 more difficult to solo than BL1 on the next playthroughs in general. The incoming damage becomes insane to deal with at times.

(Not including Gaige, but I didn't like her because of the reasons above - I want to kill the enemies dammit!)

Borderlands 3 is free to play on PS4 and Xbone this weekend...

https://borderlands.com/en-US/news/2019 ... e-jackpot/
If you'd like to try before you buy, you can check out Borderlands 3 for free on Xbox One and PS4 for a limited time from November 21 to 24. All the progress you make will carry over with your save if you opt to buy the full game and keep playing after the free weekend ends.

Put a bit of time into this and am enjoying it I must say. Very similar to previous games but still does it's own thing, graphics and physics are much improved with parts of the environment being destructible (sort of). Multiple planets with different regions give it a grander scale. Gunplay hasn't really changed but most weapons now have 2 firing modes. New vehicles with customisable loud outs.

I picked the Gunner class with deployable mech Iron Bear. Kind of regretting the choice as she's very generic, tend to only use the mech if close to death.

Main villains are very mediocre unfortunately, Handsome Jack was just so good, he's a hard act to follow I guess. Game has its issues. Vehicles are a pain to steer properly, there's a weird stick drift issue with the Xbox controller and enemies spawning directly behind you.

If you like Borderlands you'll no doubt like this.

Fuck it, why not. It is being written by the writer of Chernobl so that's a huge plus.

Coming to Steam on the 13th of March

And it's out on Steam; £24.99 (50% off) for the next week.

Anyone still interested? I find it difficult to grab enthusiasm for it if I can't find anyone else to play with.

I just picked this up on steam yesterday, although i have played a good few hours of it already - it's pretty good. Doubt my current work commitments make me much good for coop play at the moment though :(

Well, corona crap put paid to my being too busy for sure, so I've had a fair bit more time to play this - i never really gelled with the previous two borderlands and never even got close to finishing the campaigns.

But i've been blasting my way through this - i think i'm on the last mission, and have put about 50 hours into this so far, and there's still so much content to do - the world is really quite rich in detail and character - very much worth the price of admission! :D

Which character did you pick?
