Ooh, noice - Gears Tactics is launching straight onto Game Pass when it launches on April 28:

I was also pretty pleased to see Alien Isolation (which I've thought about getting for years without ever doing so) and FM 2020 are also on there now. The demo of the latter was a bit of a mess in terms of the match engine, but in a while I might give it another go and see if they've patched the biggest flaws.

I’d love to know how many payed £1 and how that harms their bottom line if at all.

I'd love to know how much they pay publishers and developers to offer their games on Gamepass. 10 million people paying £4 a month (you'd be mad to be paying the full £8 given how often it's on sale) is £40,000,000 a month, which seems like quite a large sum, and we're still likely in the user base growth stage that these sorts of subscription services go through before cranking up the price.

Hasn't the game division of Microsoft always been loss making? It's kept afloat by the monstrously large PC and software branch of the business.

I think that is a holdover from the first console where it was always the case and now people just assume it still applies. They had been making a profit the last few years but sales were down last year, for obvious reasons, and they will have spent a ton on acquisitions and R&D.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on Game Pass. I think it's Xbox only for the moment but definitely worth it if you have one.

Hellblade Senua Sacrifice

I gave up about a 1/4 in. It is actually quite a compelling game but when I could past the first boss fight and playing on easy - I gave up. I was fighting the controls as much as I was fighting the enemy. The puzzles that I played were good but the combat was a bit samey and I got pissed off with it. I must be getting old.

Right...Titanfall 2 next.
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4

Titanfall 2 single player is great and apparently the multiplayer on PC has seen an upsurge recently.

No interest in an Xbox pass but I picked Tittyfall 2 up for about £6 on Steam the other night. Early indications are that the SP is rather good :)

I've merged the two Game Pass for PC threads.
