Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord - entering Early Access March 2020

Post by Sly Boots » Wed Aug 21, 2019 1:02 pm

A game so long in the making it's venturing into Duke Nukem Forever territory, looks as though it may finally be nearing the light of day:

Announcement trailer:

Pretty exciting news, enjoyed the original and first Warband game a lot.

I'll believe it when I see it tbh.

Journo gets hands-on with a demo:

If nothing else, I guess it shows there's at least something playable in existence.

Early access dated for 31st March with a full release about a year later.

Quite excited about this now. I'll be diving into early access given that it's a sandbox game which won't really spoil the final version.

Nothing to add except that we now seem to use the term "canarying". Which is very pleasing to me. :)

Downloading now. I won't get much chance to play tonight as I've got other stuff going on, but I'm excited to finally see how things have progressed since Warband.

Early days, but looks purdy. Still feels very M&B which is no bad thing.

Sounds like lots of people are reporting numerous technical issues:

I got about half an hour in yesterday and had no issues. Very, very early impressions are good! If it is riddled with technical problems, though, I may hold off playing it until some updates are released.

You shouldn't be reviewing an Early Access game anyway, at least not in the traditional sense.

I have only managed a couple of hours so far, and was forced out by a technical problem where the mouse cursor locked on the screen. Had to alt-tab and move the cursor before dropping back into the game, hoping my movement was accurate enough to hit the respective buttons to let me save and quit.

That said, up to that point it was fine and dandy.

Apparently you can hold down R during character creation to play as a baby:

I think this was a bug and has been removed.
