Cool. Is it set before or after events in the movies?

I had to look it up as I knew pretty much nothing about this series before today. It's set in the second age of Middle Earth, and features the rise of Sauron, so it'll be set long before the films.

I thought I caught sight of the two trees of Arda in the background, so Silmarillion era I hope ( well pre-movies). I'm hoping that's Gondolin.

Netflix have published the intro sequence to their Cowboy Bebop adaptation, and it's been pretty polarising.

I personally really like it, although I think I can understand the people that don't. Trying to replicate anime character posing with flesh and blood humans is always going to be tricky, and the original is just so stylish that it was always going to be an uphill battle simply replicating it. Also, there's no Ed despite scenes from episodes where she ought to be present being shown (although I note there're spaces for her to be added in later).

I never got far into the Wheel of Time series, but I'll give this a go. The trailer screams Generic Fantasy Guff, which is fine with me. ;)

I read them a long time ago but gave up on book 7 or 8 as it got so bloated.

Here's something I could never get into after multiple attempts. Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I've no idea how close to the comics this is.

Netflix also bought the rights to all of Roland Dahl's work. That could be great or terrible..

Ah yes, Roland Dahl's Jim and the Oversized Tangerine!

As for Wheel of Time, I don't think I finished the first chapter, I lost track after the thirtieth new character with an unintelligible name was introduced, and gave up.

Given how poisoned the opinion was of Game of Thrones after it ended, I'll be interested to see opinions of this.

Not a huge amount to go on from the trailer, aside from the Poundland Targaryens. I’m not holding my hopes up.

I'll keep an open mind at this stage. At least Matt Smith has some decent acting chops.

Taking the glass half-full option, perhaps not being based on a series of beloved novels, the latter of which have yet to be written, may work in its favour?
