I'm going this weekend and I hope it is better than the mess that was Infinity War.

Endgame made $350 million in the US over the weekend. That's an immense amount, particularly when you consider that the biggest ever US cinema weekend before that generated $314 million in totality across all films on release and this is a three hour film.
Over 10% of the US population basically saw this film at the weekend. Mental.

Is Cap Marvel "required watching" before seeing Endgame??
Unsure if I can be fucked to go to cinema twice while I'm in London for the week

Not essential, but still worth a watch.

My local is only showing three other films at the moment, every other screen is for Endgame.

I rewatched it recently and found it a little better on the second viewing but there's just so many super heroes - they're everywhere. I also get annoyed at how they're all equally super. Hulk would marmelise Captain America - yet he's shrugging of hits from a Thanos who hammered the Hulk - this inconsistency is everywhere.
Yes it's a super hero movie but there has to be a little consistency.

On a separate note, I read something interesting about some Endgame foreshadowing that goes right back to Iron Man and continues throughout the MCU:

Avengers End Game.
I kind of enjoyed that. I think more than any of the other serious business Marvel films and definately more than Infinity War. I did feel the middle section was a bit bloated and they really have no baseline power level for what Danvers can do but what can you do? The finale was pretty cool.
Quickfires
Dumbo
Drab colour pallette makes what was a fairly standard retelling more drab.
Pet Sematary
I dont believe I'm saying this but John Lithgow has nothing on Fred Gwynne. As far as Jeb goes Fred was perfect. The original is much better but its not the worst remake even if the end is a bit unsatisfying.
Hellboy (2019)
Pretty shitty.
Wild Rose
Same problem I have with Cleaning Up in that I just hate the main character. Shes a selfish twat and never learns. Julie Walters is great and her character was the only rock the story had till they make her a complete imbecile in the last act. Also at one point she runs from a pub to her home in under 20mins that would barley be possible in a car ¬_¬
Greta
That was decent. Usual folk doing stupid things instead of obvious things (the PI especially!) but overall a decent horrorythriller thing.
Red Joan
Claims to be based on a true story but really isnt its just boring spy fiction thats utterly uninspired.
The Curse Of La Llorona
The most evil and powerful ghost in the world spends 90mins jumping out of curtains instead of doing any of the stuff she apparently wants to do. First 15mins are good the rest is bad.
Long Shot
God help me I laughed a fair few times at this. I expected it to be awful but it actually wasnt...... too awful. For a Seth Rogan joint it was watchable.
The Hussle
Utter fucking gash. Rebel Wilson is so unfunny its painful. The entire gag for most of the film is "LOOK AT REBEL, SHES A FAT PERSON!".

Bad Times at the El Royale
This starts quite well but soon falls apart and is rather boring and overly long. Chris Helmsworth's American accent is something.
Enter the Spiderverse
Great film with some amazing visuals and music that go together really well. Easily the best Spiderman film I've ever watched and also one of the best superhero films I've watched, very up for some more.

Snow Piercer
I watched this on a recommendation from my girlfriend's daughter...I now have to judge anything she ever recommends again..
It's recently just turned up on Netflix.
I can kind of see what they were aiming for (not read the comic behind it) but the writing just sucked. In fact the plot was pretty see through.
Basically a large train is the only thing on earth following an enormous track that circles the whole world and just happens to take a whole year to complete. I don't think it's ever explained why it was built (i did kinda nod off near the end) but let's just say it was an eccentric inventor.
There appears to be two classes on the train. The tailers (tail end of the train, lower class) and the other ones (can't remember what they're called but basically the upper class.
However, the lower class want a better life.. chaos ensues.
Gah, I should be more angry but there were some fun bits. I had fun making up my own theories about what was happening.
Can't believe it's got a 7 on IMDB.

They spend a few minutes explaining what happened to the world and why they are using a train at the start, there are also sections in the school where they explain that a bit more.
I think it's a really good film and some of the acting is great, it reminds me a lot of something like Total Recall.

I remember enjoying it enough when I saw it ages ago.
Definitely a 6 - 7 out of 10 film.
