Had not heard of that before despite regularly browsing through the list of Netflix originals for new stuff to watch, may check it out.

Just watched the first episode of The Boys - it lacks a little flow to it, a little rough around the edges, but production value is pretty good and the writing is engaging enough that I want to give it a fair shake! Better so far than Garth's last adaptation i tried to watch, which was Preacher.

They definitely toned down a couple of scenes, and where the Barney is Butcher's dog???

Still - keen to see where this goes! :D

Four episodes into The Boys now, and i would recommend it. I like what they've done with the characters. The books (and Garth in general) were always a little too puerile overall, but they seem to have translated corporate heroism very well to the tv medium.

None of it feels too OTT, and the thing with Translucent was hilarious!

Yep, we've been watching it too...it's good. Also watching Jett and the second series of Yellowstone.

Watched up to and including the 5th episode last night, loving it. Counting down the minutes to my wife's next night shift tonight so I can finish it off

Finally got around to watching the second half of Chernobyl (Sky Atlantic); yeah, that's the best thing I've seen on TV this year. Haunting, powerful, brilliantly acted, and with I think probably the best makeup effects I've ever seen - the scene where the scientist is talking to the poor irradiated sods in hospital was almost enough to put me off my food, and I tend to think of myself as having a very strong stomach.

I've also watched the first season and first two episodes of season two of Fleabag (BBC, available on iPlayer), which despite being placed in the 'comedy' category, is a surprisingly powerful drama series. It's so well written and acted that I care about every little thing the characters do, even when the situations are a little absurd. There's a particularly difficult scene at the end of the first episode in season two that actually had me welling up. I thoroughly recommend seeing this if you haven't already.

Chernobyl is truly captivating telly.

Also, just finished The Boys, was gripped from start to finish, going to be a long wait until season 2!

Also enjoyed the small nod to Supernatural (Erik Kripke was involved in both) in the last episode.
