OK so this thread is where I have got entirely too many good recommendations for shows, and it must carry over to the new forum, I demand it!

Spam your televisual feastings here, for my delectation.

We've been quite enjoying a series on Netflix called Dark Tourist... it's a bit like a Louis Theroux style travelogue type thing, but he's visiting a lot of well, darker places off the mainstream tourist trail. Stuff like going on a tour with Pablo Escobar's hitman, or visiting the places in Japan devastated by the tsunami and nuclear fallout and so on. It's pretty interesting.

Very much looking forward to watching series 4 of Better Call Saul, but as they're releasing one a week we're going to give it a while so we can binge it over a few nights.

Haha I have Dark Tourist on my Netflix list to watch, and am also waiting for all of Better Call Saul to be available before watching. Who decided that drip-feeding shows on Netflix should be a thing, it goes against the whole bloody point of it!

Thanks to suggestions in the PW TV thread, we've been watching The Staircase. Two episodes left to go. Man, pretty harrowing stuff!

Yeah, it's a good one! Once you're done, be sure to check out the 'owl theory' Evol (I think) mentioned before.

Currently working through Power on Netflix.
It's.....average. I guess. Season 2 was better, as was season 3 and season 4 is shaping up to be actually good, but we'll see how it shapes up.
Some completely pants on head writing, odd situations and 50 Cent being 50 Cent.

Completely leave your brain in another room and it's ok to burn time on in the early seasons.

Yeah I got part way through S1 and drifted away. I was amazed when a mate at work told me they are into their 5th season.

We've just started watching Castle Rock... Some familiar faces and just the right amount of suspense threads... Very good.

so I am probably the only person watching from this forum but what the hell

Gomorrah Season 3

9/10

Shakespearean in plot and character development. This is an amazing show and although it has some dips the twists and turns and shock endings never let up. Just brilliant TV =D>

I am so looking forward to season 4

Speaking of Season 4, I just started Sherlock Season 4 tonight.

The wife and I have been watching this since it started all the way back in 2012 (feels like an aeon ago). Always enjoyable.

I felt like the quality dropped a lot between seasons 3 and 4. It felt like it was trying too hard and lost a lot of the charm of the earlier seasons where he wasn't being thrown into quite so many utterly ridiculous situations. Now he just casually solves his way through these utterly impractical scenarios as if they were so obvious where the earlier stuff at least felt like it had some sort of logic to his genius analyses.

Saw the Better Call Saul season 4 opener. Not much happened aside from setting up some threads for the season. Ermintraut steals it as usual.

It's a funny series this. Not much seems to happen but when it does they do it in spades. it's still very compelling to watch and Jimmy as a character is always great.

This almost perfectly describes Breaking Bad too. Which do you think is better? I've not got round to Better Call Saul yet.

Have had this debate with my wife. They're quite different - Saul is less shocking for the most part and the main character easier to sympathise with because he's not an obvious sociopath. But BB is still excellent telly, we recently finished a full rewatch and it's no less good now than it was when it aired. Ultimately I like them both but for slightly different reasons.

I finally got round to watching Peaky Blinders about a month ago and I'm now up to season 4 (which is annoyingly not on Netflix; but when does that stop anyone ¬_¬) but so far so good; it's a nice little show and at only six episodes per season it manages to fit in a nice over-aching plot for each season without getting overly convoluted.
