Only one episode a week. Like the dark ages.

Yeah. I'll just be doing what AE is doing and save 'em up.

Just need to pop it to the back of my mind for a couple of weeks then we're good to go.

Much as I enjoy consuming entire shows all in one go, I don't really mind the traditional one episode a week release schedule. It feels like more of an event that way.

Ooh, get you with your ability to retain key plot information for a whole seven days :x

I'm sure that's why Game of Thrones did so well. It gave time for people to talk about the last episode over the water cooler without fear of finding someone who had binge watched it all in one go. Everyone was at the same episode (apart from latecomers).

Yep, and the next episode becomes an event to look forward to, if the show is very popular. I wouldn't be surprised if season 2 of the The Witcher goes out weekly next year, now its popularity has been established.

It's true about the weekly format generating discussion. In our office there are two types of TV conversation:

1) "Has anybody seen X?", "Nope", "Well I've just watched a few episodes and it's good", "Oh, okay." Sometimes followed by someone who remembers they have seen it but can't say anything because of spoilers, but you have to trust them that it gets better after the lull in season 2. ](*,)

2) An actual conversation about a weekly TV show that we all watch. Right now, it's Picard.

I'm in full favour of weekly release, if I have access to a full show I either won't touch it or lose interest very quickly.

Josh 1 -3 (Netflix)

I am coming late to the party with this one. It was background TV for me and I never gave it much attention. I decided to give it a go and it is very funny. A lot of people on the IMDB and have given it a low score, citing unpleasant characters, but the whole point of Josh is that he is whiny and I do find that funny. Some of the jokes were superbly done. I worried it was going to be similar to Game On but it does have a different vibe. For me it has a lot of potential for repeat viewing.

Beattie Edmonson follows on from her parents sense of humour.

7/10

His Dark Materials

Watched first 3 episodes. zzzzzzzzzzz

I will give it 1 more episode but I am on the cusp of giving up
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4

The first two episodes of the new season of Better Call Saul are up. Excellent as always. I feel like the series has really stepped up a notch in the last couple of seasons.

I think The Good Place is only the second American comedy show I've ever liked (and the first was Brooklyn 99 so Michael Schur seems to be My Guy).
If you liked those, also add Parks and Recreation to your list. I too enjoy Schur's work!

I've watched a couple of episodes of Parks and Rec but didn't really like it. Though I didn't really like the first episode of B99 either so maybe I should give Parks another go.

I think it takes a season to fully hit its stride, worth persevering for a little while with it.

Yeah, the first season is very weak whilst they were finding their stride and the correct cast. You could skip it, since knowing all the ins and outs of the plot isn't required, but overall I'm glad I had that back-story once I'd finished the lot.
