I've enjoyed the few series Dave put out, it generally wasn't as good as the older stuff but better than later-day Red Dwarf that the BBC put out. I remember thinking the last series was much closer to the standard of the old stuff.

I preferred the first Dave series to the last one, but overall agree.

The Kominsky Method.

Michael Douglas plays an acting coach, life happens. Watched the first couple tonight and took a massive effort not to binge more. It's great!

Been watching Timeline on Netflix. It's entertaining fluff, very reminiscent of a 90's sci-fi tv show like Sliders. One of the main characters being black always has a shit time of it simply due to the inherent racism of history. I like how they don't dance around the subject.

You mean Timeless, right?

Yes, it is great.

Yip that's the one. Timeline is the Michael Crichton thing isn't it.

That is correct, which is a fantastic book, but a less-than-awesome movie.

I agree 100%. I loved the book; why can't they just make Crichton books into films without fucking about with them? The guy wrote for film and TV FFS, he knows what he's doing and they should stop messing about with the source material.

Yeah, I love Jurassic Park but in the book Hammond is a right evil arsehole and gets his comeuppance. Not the cuddly, friendly grandad of the movies at all...

Although it's been over 25 years since I read the book so I could be misremembering!

Better Call Saul

Season 2-3

Superb TV. A totally different vibe to Breaking Bad but amazing writing - some of the best I have watched. This is the best prequel to anything I have seen. The set ups and how to got here are superb. Definitely worth seeing this before Breaking Bad

We finished the latest season last weekend. I love how well it ties in with BB, even down to the tiny little moments of foreshadowing and references that aren't obvious. And yet it manages to have it's own very distinctive vibe.

There's something inherently satisfying in seeing how the overarching plot points come together to create the state of affairs we see in BB too. The addition of all the other characters was a great idea.

I too loved BCS, so much so that I started rewatching Breaking Bad immediately afterwards, and I'm picking up on all the little references to the latter. It's also beautifully shot, perhaps more so than I would expect from a TV programme.

finished season 4. The transition to Saul Goodman is starting to take shape.
Spoiler
MIke killing Werner - I am not so sure about that. I know the plot had to have something of interest to keep it going, better than a bunch of germans dig hole and move on, but to me of the whole 4 seasons that was the weakest plotline. Maybe because I liked Werner but could they not just let him see his wife for the weekend maybe in day time only under surveillance. They could pretend its was a holiday. I don't understand why they had to keep it that secret when all they did is drive these guys up the wall for near on 6 months. Who was going to keep them quiet the minute they reached Germany ?

What will happen to Nacho ? He is not in BB so either he dies or he runs away ?
