Perhaps my opinion is coloured slightly by the fact that I quite admire Wil Wheaton as a person; he's a massive geek and he's made a life out of it. He's also the only Star Trek actor I've actually interacted with.
Wil Wheaton I love, I think he’s brilliant but he’s brilliant despite Wesley. Because of in some ways but also despite ;)

He is in Nemesis though, at the wedding just sitting in the background and I dont believe its ever referenced at all. I did only watch Nemesis once though so I could be wrong.

edit 2: from wiki
"He is next seen sitting next to his mother in the background of the wedding scenes in the feature film Star Trek: Nemesis. In a scene deleted from the movie,[4] Captain Picard asks Crusher if he is excited to serve on board the USS Titan (Captain Riker's ship), and Crusher tells him that he will be running the night shift in Engineering, which would have indicated that Wesley returned to Starfleet at some point prior to the events of the film, if the scene had not been deleted."

Fair enough. It's not surprising that he's there though; the director famously had never seen an episode of Star Trek before, and so there are a few inconsistencies that they don't bother explaining (including why Worf is still the ship's tactical officer when he's the Ambassador to Qo'nos by that point).

I love how often in TNG, characters get 'taken over' and suddenly start acting strange - yet everyone else just looks quizzically at them, before going about their business as usual, instead of saying "Hey, he's acting completely differently all of a sudden. Surely something's wrong! Better relieve them from their position."

And then said person goes on to bring great danger to the crew.

Yeah, there really needs to be a Starfleet protocol wherein one crew member says a code phrase, and the one acting suspiciously has to say a response phrase else be immediately escorted to sickbay for a thorough checkup.

Tiger King

Utterly bizarre. Not sure why it is such a hit when I leaned next to nothing. It is not really a documentary, just a reality car crash show. All the park runners are completely wierd (well they would be wouldn't they) and only the park employees came out of the series looking good or sensible, which is saying much for this show.
Spoiler
To me the biggest shock is how Joe Exotic turned 2 young heterosexual men gay by fueling them with drugs they desperately crave (why could not he find a good looking gay guy ?). Oh yeah and Carole Fucking Baskin. Confucius quote "Seek revenge and you should dig two graves, one for yourself” - never a truer word spoken
Compelling for all the wrong reasons.

5/10

Better Call Saul season 5

7/10

I would not say this show is suffering from diminishing returns but I think it has been stretched a little too thin now. I thought season 5 would be the last before Breaking Bad, but its not - that will be season 6. The problem with that are the actors are now looking old. As much as you try and overlook this issue, Jonathan Banks and Giancarlo Esposito are supposed to be playing younger versions of their characters in Breaking Bad but their bodies and faces cannot lie. Both actors are being to walk like old men.

I do very much enjoy this series but I think 6 seasons is 2 seasons too many. There is a lot of fat they could of cut and got to Saul Goodman a lot quicker - like the end of season 2 and develop that character in season 3 and 4 and maybe even 5 but here we are, waiting for season 6 to understand why Kim Wexler and Nacho Varga never appear or even get mentioned in Breaking Bad.

Better Call Saul is a superb show but I get the sense of feeling the producers are not entirely sure how to end this. I am surprised Netflix greenlit another season for 2021.

18 episodes into TNG and I have to say Season 1 has gone up in my estimation, compared to my old opinion of it. It's a bit goofy and rough around the edges at times, but it's packed full of great ideas and concepts. It's just so entertaining.

Watching Gangs of London after my brother and several friends got all excited about it. Decent show although it does stretch the bounds of credibility with the main protagonist surviving crazy fight after crazy fight. By the end of each he is pouring blood, but then goes onto the next with a bumped head or nicked cheek and despite being virtually killed the fight before seems none the worse for wear.

Still, not bad. Very gratuitous in the violence stakes, well shot and acted, worth a look.

As a huge fan of Gomorrah (up there with Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul) I shall watch and I shall judge....

Finally finished The Mandalorian. What a belter of a series. Aside from the (still decent) prison episode, I enjoyed every minute of it. The music has to be in my top 5 TV themes of all time, too.

Agreed, I just finished the fifth episode and I have to say that the fight scenes and shoot outs have been amazing! Looking up the show on IMDb the first and fifth episode was directed by Gareth Evans (Raid 1 and 2)

Some of the most visceral and nasty use of CGI effects I have seen.

I do struggle with the indestructability of some folks though. The apoiler above for example.

Watched a new series that went up on Netflix the other day: Into the Night.

Must say we enjoyed it greatly. Interesting premise - though, if I'm honest, it's quite like The Langoliers in many respects - which I won't spoil beyond that. It's a Belgian show, and recommend watching it in French with subtitles as the voices they chose for the dub don't fit the characters (of the few minutes we persisted with it).

Quite short at six 40-minute episodes, but looking forward to the next season.
