General Film News
Re: General Film News
I'm not really a fan of the Uncharted games (although I only played the first which was already dated by the time I got around to it), but I'm assuming this is some sort of prequel to the games? Holland just does not look old enough to play the Nathan Drake I recognise.
It looks like a fun action movie regardless.

Re: General Film News
What I can see from the trailer it looks like it's based on the last game in the series and Holland looks way too young.
Re: General Film News
The last game? Isn't Drake in his early 40s? They can't possibly have chosen Holland to play someone that age.
The trailer really looks like it's the start of his career, which is why I went with prequel.

Re: General Film News
It just looks like they took a lot of scenes from the last game which is a bit odd and yes Drake would be in his 40's by then. The film is no doubt just a mish mash of bits from all the games and I suppose 4 is just the most prevalent in the trailer. Should have been made 10 years ago with Nathan Fillion.
Re: General Film News
It's a prequel that mashes up pretty much all of the games at once. The ship, the auction scene lifted from 4, the plane from 3, Chloe shows up which is a bit weird, but she's played by a younger actress so that's 2 covered. Lastly you can see Drake falling towards a tropical island from 1 after the plane and not desert. Lastly there's two references to Sam.
They must only be going for one film because there won't be an story left. And Wahlberg is missing a mustache.

My favourite part was the song about Lord of the Rings.
EDIT: Tell a lie it was the bullshit Scottish 'joke' at the end.

I must admit - that looks pretty cool
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4
Re: General Film News
The first trailer was very good too. Hopefully it'll turn out to be a decent reboot.
Re: General Film News
The film looks fantastic - I think there's a lot of potential in a film where Batman enters a world filled with his traditional villains (rather than it focusing on the rise of just one of them), Arkham Asylum-style, but I'm still not sold on Pattinson, the new Batsuit or Batmobile. They don't look right to me, just not very imposing. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, it wouldn't be the first time they'd changed the style of Batman and won me over.

The CG looks amazing and I'm sure it'll be fine but Disney has all the money in the world to make what they want but all we see are remakes, reboots and spin-offs.
Re: General Film News
I found it interesting that Lightyear barely says a thing in that trailer, as if they're hiding the fact that they've changed the voice actor. Do they think that nostalgia-money won't roll in if people realise Tim Allen's no longer voicing him?
I agree on the CGI though; that's a beautiful film.
