I can take or leave superhero films in general - haven't seen the original WW, didn't care for the TV show back in the day, won't watch this one. Nonetheless, the scathing reviews are indeed everywhere!

I wasn’t all that interested in WW1984, but now I’m intrigued to see if it really is that bad. The first WW was half-decent and Justice League was terrible, but both were fun and Gal Gadot is great, so there’s a reasonable chance I’ll enjoy it.

Scrap that - £16 to rent (not buy) it on Amazon Prime. Fuck that. How can they possibly justify that much?

Did they do that for other cinema films that were released online first instead due to the pandemic? Didn't watch it, but thinking of something like that last Trolls film, for instance.

My guess is they're charging cinema prices despite the fact it's not on in cinemas.

Not sure, but it’s WAY higher than the regular prices at our local Vue. I think it was £5.50 for a regular seat and £7.50 for a VIP set. If they’re setting the price on the assumption that two or more people will be watching who would have gone to the cinema, then as a single person who isn’t meeting with other people to watch films together during a pandemic, they can enjoy not having my money.

Maybe they're assuming it's so awesome you'll want to watch it more than once

But, yeah, I'm quite happy not paying to watch things at home when I've got a million free things waiting for me to get to.

If you're willing to sail under the Black Flag it's widely available, as is Tenet, another pay-through-the-nose jobbie.

Nah, I'm not that desperate to see it immediately. Just bewildered at the pricing from an industry that claims to be on its knees due to the pandemic. I'd readily have paid a reasonable price to rent it, along the lines of a seat at the cinema.

Are they not setting a price based on a family of four watching it together? Not many people buy 1 cinema ticket guys.
