I agree. Considering just how much is going on in Infinity War and how many characters it deals with - most of whom have importance to the story - it’s amazing it worked at all. I’m heavily invested in the MCU, and I think the more you buy into it, the more it pays off. I get why people bounce off it, but for me this is the end of an 11 year story told in a way that’s never been achieved before in cinema, and I find that exciting.

The films (for me personally anyhow) also fall into the category of just too much mindless action sequence after action sequence, CGI'd to the bollocks, with not enough story.

They just aren't for me.

I won't even go near the Thor and Loki shite. Being interested in Norse history and mythology from childhood, as characters they always left me utterly cold.

I don't mind a bit of mindless CGI action in a superhero movie, but I am pretty tired of them repeating the same formula again and again. I haven't been invested in the Marvel movies at all since leaving disappointed following the second Avengers movie, skipped a couple in between and was pleasantly surprised by how good Infinity War was. Either way, I'm a bit spent on the whole concept now and I'm not a fan of the comics so won't just lap up Disney's cash cow every few months when a new movie comes out.

I've actually enjoyed the Netflix shows one hell of a lot more, but even they are hit and miss at times; Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders were all pretty bad. Daredevil has largely been great though, as was Punisher and the first season of Jessica Jones. It's a shame that Disney have pulled almost all of them because they're more concerned with their own subscription service and didn't want Netflix producing everything for them anymore.

Wasn't aware of that Dave, that's a shame. I really enjoyed Jessica Jones S1, Punisher S1 and Daredevil S1, and Luke Cage I thought was OK. Daredevil S3 was disappointing for me personally, not yet watched the new season of Punisher, and I reserve my deepest loathing for Iron Fist
