The Apprentice 2019

Post by Raid » Wed Oct 02, 2019 7:59 pm

Here we go then; another batch of buffoons that make our current set of politicians look like, well, a little less like arseholes. Starting tonight, and sticking with the one episode for this first week (they used to do a couple in the first week, but not this year). The candidates are being shoved straight onto a plane, and shipped to the other end of the world, hopefully to get eaten by lions. Or at least dressed to look like they've been eaten by lions. There's always one, isn't there.

I'm so glad they're getting the typically cringeworthy tourist experience episode out of the way early this year.

Oh god, bus songs.

So this shit has been running for 15 years, meaning all the vile cunts in it this year have grown up watching it. There is no chance that any of them couldn't be aware that it is a show aimed at gurning morons, yet here they are.

Currently loathing (slightly more than the rest of them):
- The Laaaaaaahndon barrow boy salesman, who is basically Danny Dyer turned up to 11...
- The limp, pouting fuck-knuckle with two names...
- The fit, but so far up her own arse she is verging on inverting librarian...

Others will follow, but they are on my immediate hate-list. God this program is so fucking awful, why am I watching it when it is going on for real in Parliament and beyond?

I have to admit that I found myself wondering that last night too. I watched Bake Off just beforehand, and going from lovely, largely undramatised actual talent competition to The Apprentice's overly dramatic group of angry shouting people was painful. I'll probably continue watching it, I think it does usually take me a few episodes to get back into it. There's rarely much to say about the first episode anyway, given that we don't really know anyone yet.

It's actually irritating that the girls team won that task, as their tour was utter shit in comparison. The editing of the show though has become a bit predictable, as halfway through as the girls' task was seemingly going to pot, I commented to my wife that that meant they were probably going to win.

The right person went though, just contributed nothing.

I think it was pretty clear they would win because they could sell wine. They should have won by a huge margin.

I didn't even consider the gift shop aspect until they went in to negotiate a commission, it was just at the point at which they were editing it to show the girls' tour bus being sad and depressing compared to the boys' that I pretty much knew it was being presented in such a way because the girls won. It seems to have become a bit of an Apprentice trope.

I did laugh when the wide boy was moaning about the other guy reducing his 25% commission to 22.5% when they made a total of £5

For the first time in 15 years I'm actually considering giving up watching it for good. I had to fastforward through most of that 1st episode, and that's coming from someone who's always championed the show.

I mean, I'll still have another go at the next episode. I might get into it.

Amazingly, they went for something that looked even worse.

It’s a tough call between the creamy phallus and the brown abomination with twigs sticking out of it.
