Shocked to hear just now that Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car accident in Spain, only 35 which is no age.

Still remember when he first arrived at Arsenal, he was a cracking player and although he faded a bit after that start he still had a quality career.

RIP

Yeah it's a shame. Lots of things behind why it didn't work out at Arsenal including the fact her didn't get on with Henry and his struggle to learn the language and how homesick he was. Things were never the same for him after he was kicked off the pitch in the travesty that was the United game that end our unbeaten run. To this day it remains one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen. I think that just finished off his confidence and willingness to play in England.

If you look back through Wenger's reign you can point to at least five players who had their careers at Arsenal ruined/curtailed because of the rough treatment referees allowed opposition teams to dole out. Eduardo, Reyes, Diaby, Ramsey and possibly Wilshire. Shocking really.

Chelsea on the verge of appointing "Lamps".

Obviously they've been really impressed with the sterling work Ollie has been carrying out at United and want to emulate the approach

A relatively cheap option that'll keep the fans happy whilst they navigate their transfer ban.

As per they'll get the usual 12-18 months out him then empty him. No point spunking the cash on a 'big name' when they cant sign anyone.

It's still worth a chuckle though. :D

Poor Unai.

Who's next? Poch for the bantz, as the kids say. Although I see Viera being touted. Fun times. :)

He should have gone weeks ago and the club's dithering has probably cost us the top four. On the plus side it appears some in the club wanted to appoint Mourinho, so bullet dodged.

I've seen a lot of calls for Max Allegri, and on the surface he'd appease the fans as a big name and trophy winner coming in. However his style is said to be exceedingly pragmatic and much like Emery he speaks barely a word of English (I think at least part of the reason Emery failed was poor communication), so not quite sure that would be a runaway success either.

It's not going to be Allegri, he's apparently turned an approach down. It's between Nuno Espirito Santo and Arteta I reckon.

Didn't Pep say a few days back that Arteta would be going nowhere, this season at least?

Sounds like they're considering giving Ljungberg the season, could be that their preferred target is unavailable until the summer.
