Ohh, good shout. I'd totally forgotten about that. Arena tickets for the RAH gig purchased.
My gig lineup for next year is now Gojira, Meshuggah, Opeth, Rammstein and Devin Townsend. That's got to be one of the best series of gigs I've ever had in a single year, might add Maiden at Download to that just to top things off.

Sadly won't be able to make the RAH date. If it wasn't for the fact it's the Easter Bank Holiday weekend I'd be in.
Re: \m/ Metal \m/
I have a box for the RAH gig

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
One of my favourite underground bands Wormwood has released their third album Arkivet. I love this lot, they blend death metal blast beats, trem picking and rasping growls with psychedelic sections reminiscent of Pink Floyd and somehow they make it work.
Bleak, melancholy and angry, well worth your time.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
The new Maiden album dropped today. It's very long and gets a bit bloated with overly dragged out Steve Harris tracks by the end, but the first disc is an absolute banger.
Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Might not be metal enough for some of you, but it's got loud guitars in so I'm sharing it here:
Loads of bands on there I'd like to see, and a bunch I've never heard of to check out if I fancy. A mate has already got a caravan ticket rolled forward from the 2020 cancellation so there's at least one person I know going I can hang with... HMMMMMMM!

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
That Saturday is looking properly loaded. Problem for me is I've seen most of the big bands on that list (yes that includes Kiss). Aside from Sepultura nothing is really grabbing me.
Course if you haven't seen them, go for it that man and enjoy.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Sep are great live but I still can’t get over that feeling of seeing how short Max is. Always expected him to be a tower then he walks out and needs to get on a soapbox to reach the mic.**
Volbeat are fantastic live, I’d maybe say they would be my main attraction there.
**not actually
Edit: Bush?! Fucking Bush are still a thing?!

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Sep now got Derrick green on the vocals and he's quite a menace, but I know what you mean about Max. I watched him do a set with cavalera conspiracy many years ago and an hour in they realised it was a 90 minute set and they hadn't bought enough songs.
Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Man I forgot all about Green. I’ve also noticed I still think of albums released over a decade ago as “that bands new album”. I think this is what getting old is.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
There isn't a whole lot there for me but Download is for more mainstream metal so fair enough there. I would go and see Maiden on Saturday just because Maiden always put on a great show, but would have everything crossed that I could see Dying Fetus, then Obituary, then Sepultura before needing to head to the main stage. Green is a fabulous frontman (although I will always have a soft spot for Max, those early albums were so influentiual to young Snowy) and they will absolutely rip it up live.
Mastodon too of course, again always a cracking show from them.
Nothing of interest on Friday for me, nor Sunday. At a push I would go and see Volbeat, they put on a good show and have some decent tunes.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
If Halestorm get confirmed at any point they're worth a watch though I have a feeling the main stage is filled now.
Edit: oh and I think the lead singer of Pretty Reckless has a habit of tearing her clothes off on stage.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
She has a really great voice but their songs seem to be getting worse and worse. First album had a few good tracks.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Forgot to mention that the Spiritbox debut album (Eternal Blue) landed on September 17th, and it's exceedingly solid. Probably only one track I'd leave off or might skip in future, I think.
