Re: General Gaming News
I have zero attachment to Oblivion as I never played it back in the day. Skyrim on the other hand is one of my favourites. I'll definitely give it a look but I can't see myself sinking hundreds of hours into it.
Re: General Gaming News
Always thought of it as the worst TES, especially following after Morrowind. Certainly the TES I have the least fond memories of since Battlespire is technically a worse game but it has a special place in my heart :p

Re: General Gaming News
There are two intriguing details that appear to be accurate from the leaks:
- Bethesda have outsourced it
- It’s in UE5
The latter is surely proof of concept that ES6 could work in UE5, presumably with some Creation gubbins in the back end. Can’t wait to see what the results are like.
Oh, and apparently a Fallout 3 remaster is all but confirmed too.

Re: General Gaming News
I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think there is a difference between back-porting a Elder Scrolls game to UE5 and building one from scratch in UE5. I'd be surprised if they moved off Creation, the time it would take to learn everything in UE5 and then implement all the stuff they need for an Elder Scrolls game would be huge.Wrathbone wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:15 pmThere are two intriguing details that appear to be accurate from the leaks:

Re: General Gaming News
Agreed, I've banged on about that plenty of times before.
But it looks like they've managed something significant here - possibly a compatability layer which retains the Creation engine in terms of functionality but presents the world in UE5. If that's possible, I don't see why they couldn't do something similar for ES6.
Early days, though. For all we know, it's going to be a maelstrom of new bugs.

Re: General Gaming News
I assume the Creation engine was used for Starfield in some form? While the game was dull as dishwater, it did at least look half decent (mostly). A remake of Fallout 3 would be greatly appreciated.
Re: General Gaming News
Yeah, they spent years improving the Creation engine after Fallout 4 for use in Starfield. UE5 still looks much prettier though.

So it's out Monday the 21st...according to people who apparently know this kind of thing.

Re: General Gaming News
I'll give it a look but like others I barely played it so don't have much attachment to it outside of the classic Consolvania review.

120GB on PC. That's sounds like more than a simple remaster.

Re: General Gaming News
This is actually starting to look better and better, I do think that Sony not releasing Killzone on the PC platform has left a huge gap for this kind of genre shooter to find an audience - especially now that the future of Crysis is looking bleaker than ever this could well steal some thunder. It looks like a solid throwback to the turn gen shooter period and once again a crossbreed of both Crysis and Killzone? That certainly has me all over it.
Oh yes, and then there is this...

Indeed it does and am currently downloading. It's 52Gb on console so not not sure about PC version.
From the announcement video it looks very impressive, they redid almost everything and added new features.
