It looks very nice but the actual gameplay and dialogue seem very mediocre.

Very much looking like a modern take on Vice City. I'm in.

Mindseye is a weird one as it does feel like it is an openworld game but it isn't really, it's a linear story fps. I was reading the preview in Edge this week and the way it works is odd as it is built within the Everything engine that the developer has made which has been created to allow players to make lots of user generated content. So for Mindseye there are portals that appear in the world for levels you can go into and players will be able to make their own levels to appear in other people's games.

Nice to see something getting a reception as positive as this has been given for once.

Might be worth doing a precautionary steam password reset.

I'm not going to lower myself one bit by sticking up some nonsensical hyperbolic turd rambling youtube video with "BUNGIE IS COOKED!!!!" in large bold letters because it's bloody dense. What I will say is that I can't even begin to fathom a way for them to turn around Marathon's horrible reception, even if they do go down the route of delaying it deep within the deepest depths of next year. How they have even managed to drop the ball this hard defies belief...no wait...corpo leads. Well, that's settled that then.

Imagine paying $3.6 billion for a developer as esteemed as Bungie only to end up in this kind of state where your game leads sit on a live stream depressingly having to apologise for being caught plagiarising someone else's work for the fourth consecutive time. Do they delay it? Cancel it? Utterly bury it like they did Concord?

The Arc Raiders vs Art Raiders moniker is quite funny though.

I'm not sure if you are blaming Sony but to be fair to them a lot of the mismanagement is on Bungie. This would have been the fourth time they have been accused of stealing someone else's work. Then you had the recent plagiarism lawsuit where the judge said they were unable to produce the relevant material as they had removed it in the purge of the older content in Destiny 2.

He's being awfully bullish about BL4 when the last three releases, including the film, haven't been very good. BL2 is one of my most played games, Pre-Sequel was good but not stellar, BL3 I tried to play multiple times and just ran out of steam, and TTW was when I turned to the rest of our co-op group and asked "Is anyone actually enjoying this?" about two hours in, and we all agreed that we weren't and never touched it again.

But honestly, Randy Pitchford may be one of the most detestable executives in an industry filled with awful executives. I mean just look at the other stories linked on that page:
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/gearb ... guys-want/
Utterly tone deaf. People were a bit miffed about that minimap story (again because Randy Pitchford said something stupid about it after it broke); joking that they should sell the feature as DLC is just going to wind people up that are already fed up with content stripping and incessant monetisation.

He's insinuating that the only way to save the games industry is to support the dev teams. We are, publishers aren't. There doesn't appear to be any measure of game success that results in dev teams being confident in keeping their jobs.

Must confess, I don’t understand the success of Borderlands. They’re so tedious and the attempts at comedy make me want to self lobotomise. Randy actually makes me hate the series where if it was not for him it would be more indifference, he’s such a wank.

At least a part of my decreasing opinion on the franchise is the quality of the writing has plummeted. I think their humour works, but it needs to be a side aspect rather than the focus, but with every game they've focussed on it more at the expense of everything else. BL2 had a fantastically well-written and performed villain, but BL3 absolutely did not (making them basically Youtubers was a hilariously poor misstep - they only ever felt annoying rather than villainous), and all you were left with was that tedious NPC whose entire personality was "I like coffee" and the whiny kid that gets a much more popular character killed. The gameplay wasn't particularly bad, but it was just more of the same with no story to draw me in. TTW, once the initial novelty of it being D&D-inspired wore off, failed to land on just about every level, but I can't say I played enough of it to really make a fair judgement.

But yes, the quality of the series aside, Randy Pitchford actively makes me want to never buy one of his company's products ever again.

I started a replay of BL3 after it was released on Game Pass with all the DLC. I got as far as the Jacobs Planet before uninstalling out of boredom, it had gotten very tedious at that point. I did complete the game when it was first released but I remember not enjoying it much then either.
