I didn't expect this but I think Divinity Original Sin 2 has overtaken Witcher 3 as my current most favourite game.

Great gameplay (once you know what you're doing)

Brilliant quests that make you think.

Great writing and voice acting is superb.

Very pretty also.

Went with Fane.

It's a funny one though. Normally when you play these sorts of games you play them to discover your chosen characters story but I seem to know much much more about the other members of the party than my own story. Which appears to be basically I am very very old and my people have been wiped out.

Maybe if I was playing as someone else there would be more exposition of fanes story.

Still bloody great and it's massive.

IIRC you learn your companion's backgrounds relatively quickly while your own is much slower and spread out throughout the game (and it's a big game), regardless of who you're playing as.

I can't remember most of the names now, but on first playthrough I picked the beardy human assassin guy. Then for the second playthrough I picked Fane. I was enjoying it and got to the bit after the prison but by then I'd played the game so much I sort of drifted away from it at that point and didn't carry on with it.

So you haven't been to driftwood yet?

Not in my second playthrough. I beat the game in my first one though.

I made my own character for my playthrough. Agreed it is a great game, slightly shocked to see you favouring it over Witcher 3 Jez.

Can't gush enough about it mate. It's fantastic.

The quality of the quests and how they are presented and acted are well up there with W3 for me. Many are very clever indeed in how they can be solved and dealt with.

The depth in the gameplay is beyond description. Combat is a joy, each fight presents it's own challenge and many I can prepare for before hand and shape the battlefield before I trigger the encounter.

It's just amazing in a whole lot of ways.

Finished Doom. Great game!

Just about to instal Doom myself Gibby, once I make some room on my SSD...

Doom is great. One of the few games in recent years that I've finished to the end.
