When I say "steeply" increase the cost, I'm thinking in terms of percentages. It's going to be difficult to justify the price if it goes beyond the £20 per month mark.
What I think is interesting is that Microsoft are already selling a subscription-based service (well, part subscription, part hire-purchase I suppose) for the console ecosystem as a whole: https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-all-access; for £25 a month you get an XBox One X, Gamepass, XBox Live and the ability to upgrade to whatever the next console is called in 12 months. For £600 over two years you're getting the entire console experience, and although it looks expensive, I still think it's a better looking deal than Stadia is right now.

I can see it being £20 for Game Pass plus xCloud streaming but I think it will be a while before Game Pass itself hits £20 unless you mean the Ultimate package which includes PC, Xbox and Live.
It's been all quiet on the Stadia front for a while and the natives are getting restless...

I’d forgotten it existed!
Apparently Google have too.

Every time I hear about it it's almost like the first time I'm hearing about it

They just announced that Gylt and Metro Exodus will be joining Stadia Pro in February, at the same time Rise of the Tomb Raider and Samurai Showdown will be leaving. Still no news on when the free tier will be available.

As of tomorrow you can now use Stadia on some non-Google Pixel phone models...
What a joke of a service. Why choose Razer and ASUS to be two of the three phone manufacturers that you add support for?

You could say they're.... phoning it in?
Because of the phones.
I'll go now.

Razer are a gaming brand so I guess that makes sense. Presumably none of the big names are interested in adding support so Google ended up talking to ASUS?
Edit: helps to open the link before replying to the thread though, eh? Samsung is a huge portion of the market, seems like a no-brainer they'd get them on board ASAP. The other two, eh, why not?

Their efforts to attract game devs to the service sound hilariously inept:

mixed messaging with Stadia. They announced 100+ games will be released this year (although its March and nothing yet) and Google has 2 game studios making original content.
For one of the biggest companies in the world with more money than some entire countries - this has been a terrible mitigated disaster of a launch.
