Delayed so it doesn't clash with the new Call of Duty and Battlefield games? I find that a bit odd as I don't think there's a huge crossover in people playing the multiplayer in those games, each is its own unique thing.
No I think it is delayed because it's coming in really hot, this is literally the last date they can release the game before Christmas. Apparently the campaign has been completely rebooted over the last year moving from a Destiny open world style game to more of a traditional liner story game oh and co-op and Forge wont be in at launch.
Oh, that makes it sound very less interesting now.

The Halo series kinda passed me by, but if what DJ says is correct then it sounds as though this one could land squarely in the still-smouldering crater that Cyberpunk left behind...

How long did it take them to fix MCC after its broke ass launch? 3-4 years?

To be fair to them the MCC was kind of unique, a bunch of totally different games made on different engines and with different tech smooshed together, it's sort of surprising it worked at all.

It still doesn't on Game Pass. Only the Steam version has any real stability from what I've gathered.

I didn't think the original game looked that bad but it looks like pish compared to the improved version. If only EA had the same pride in what they released the new Battlefield game could be amazing.

Had a quick go of the multiplayer. Looks really nice with detailed character models and environments.

Started off with a practice round against bots who were really aggressive and love to grenade spam, they also sneak up behind you and can pop you with ease from medium distance. Was a bit of a shock at how good they were. Then tried a online game of CTF with real people, was good enough fun and I actually managed to get a few kills and grabbed the flag at one stage before getting twatted with a grav hammer. Everyone was of a similar experience level but I can see that rapidly changing and noobs like me getting obliterated.

It's basically Halo MP with some new gear and better visuals. Doubt I'll spend very much time on it as the MP was never my thing, looking forward to the campaign though.

I played a good chunk of the Halo Infinite multiplayer last night, had quite a bit of fun with it. I've not played a great deal of Halo multiplayer over the years with 3 being the only one I played with any regularity so I can't say if it feels like true Halo multiplayer. At times it did feel a bit like playing Destiny without the powers and less of the player who shoots first wins.

They really need to sort out the progression though, after playing around 8 games lastnight I hadn't advanced one level of the Battlepass. All XP is gained through challenges with three that are specific to modes or weapons and one that gives you XP for just playing games. I'm not a huge fan of the challenges that are specific to guns/modes etc as they can be awkward to do especially if the mode you need never comes up in the rotation but everything rewards you with too little experience. Nearly every Battlepass I have played would have given me at least one or two levels during my play last night so to get none felt pretty bad. I don't need to gain BP levels to have fun but if you are going to have the system in your game don't make it so stingy as it feels bad watching the XP bar creep up or not even move after every match.

One other thing to note, this was the first Xbox/Microsoft game I had played on Steam and it was neat to see that Xbox Achievements popped despite me playing through Steam.

Yeah I was a bit irked at how little my level went up after playing a few matches, they really are going for a grind. I saw people that were already at level 12 on the first day which means they must have literally done nothing else that day.
