Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
So another sale is done and dusted and I get the feeling we're buying less and less as each year passes.
Has the sheen went off the sales? What did you all end up with?
I bought Lumines then refunded it because I already have the original and its not remastered enough for my liking.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
Bought a few things, refunded two of them (Senua's Sacrifice and Everspace) as mentioned on the other thread. I kept Grim Dawn. My dad also gifted me Jurassic World Evolution and Planet Coaster, two games I never really was interested in buying, but guess I'll give them a go. I've done the first couple of islands of JWE and it seems ok.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
It's all phycological if you ask me, with so many sales games are being devalued so even when you see it for a good price you think it will be cheaper in another sale at some point so you think more about whether you should pick it up now. The amount of sales on various platforms also makes you think that the old Steam sales had bigger discounts when in reality they didn't they were just rarer so they seemed more special and you felt you needed to pick the game up there and then. That's gone now.
On my end I picked up
I also grabbed Whispers in the Machine but refunded after it popped up in the next Humble Choice mix.
I've already completed Tangle Tower and had a good deal of fun with it, was a really well written and acted murder mystery puzzle game.
EDIT: I also grabbed Watch_Dogs 2 and Outward on Epic, both were under a fiver.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
Wasn't much worth buying this year so by the time the sales came I had the ones I was interested in already and completed. I was going to get the Disco Elysuim but by the time I maybe get around to playing it (playing too much online mp games with friends and streaming atm) that it's going to be cheaper with a bigger discount.
Gaming is getting a bit too stale and repetitive for games that I am now getting to work through my steam backlogs though
Was given Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for xmas and really enjoying it even though I completely suck at these games.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
yep there comes when us oldies stop buying games on day 1 or go through long stretches of not buying any game due to the unplayed pile of shame.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
With this in mind I had a quick look back though the old Steam transaction history and found that the last purchase I made on Steam was on the 25th of June 2018.
That's nearly 2 years ago now.
Turns out I haven't bought games with any great regularity on Steam since the beginning of 2016.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
That may be true. Although in my defence I walk away and leave it running more than I actually play it, but I do concede I may have a problem.
I still buy games just not directly from Steam. I always considered myself a fairly regular steam customer, but evidently I am less of a customer these days and more of a user.
Since that last direct Steam purchase I have registered nearly 100 games on Steam bought from 3rd parties. I'm sure Valve get a taste of those purchases somewhere down the line, but if I'm right in thinking that I'm not alone in my habits at some point that's got to be fairly concerning for them.

Re: The Big Steam Bargains Thread
Ah, I get it. Tbh I use sites like CD keys etc if I'm buying games these days, apart from the odd Steam sale purchase. I certainly wouldn't buy a full-price title directly from Steam when it's so much cheaper elsewhere.
