Not so much a deal but a heads up none the less. Creative Assembly have upgraded the base versions of Empire, Napoleon and Medieval 2 to definitive editions...

So if you have them on Steam you now have all the DLC for them too.

TBH even if you have the others, Oxenfree is worth that alone.

What are the Shadowrun games like? I keep seeing them in deals like this but never quite feel in the right mood to try one. I like the look of the universe but I'm not sure if I'd have the patience for the actual game.

Pretty good, as an XCOM fan I think the turn-based combat would click with you. As for the games, first was ok, Dragonfall easily the best and Hong Kong sitting somewhere between the two.

The campaigns aren't huge - maybe 20-25 hours? - so don't outstay their welcome, and missions are undertaken as map-instances sorta things, with a small hub with shops, base etc between missions.

That's kinda tempting. Are XBox games on PC generally decent these days? Are they identical software or is there a PC 'version'? Are there lots of hoops to jump through to get things working as you'd normally expect? Do they support PC controls or is an XBox pad required (not that this is really an issue)?

Don't get it if you're planning on playing the multiplayer, from what I've gathered it's full of hackers. Other than being forced through the Microsoft Store and using their UWP platform I don't think there are many other differences between the PC and console versions.

It supports mouse and keyboard too.

On the PC side it's downloaded via the Windows Store as far as I know, which has been a little hit or miss in the past, but is more or less acceptable. It does what you need it to do.

In terms of Gears its the XBone game with the added benefit of having tonnes of GFX options to fart about with and mouse and keyboard is just as valid a way to play as a controller.

If you have the hardware to run it it's easily the best version of the game.
