Basically for offline play with bots and spectating online matches...

Valve will apparently start moderating comments in the Steam forums next week...

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steam ... 4205125837
The short version is that starting on Tuesday, Sept 25th, our moderation team will start reviewing reported discussion posts in all game hubs on Steam.

In the past, we've been hesitant to get involved in the moderation of individual game discussions, as we didn't want to step on the toes of game developers that want to have their own style of communication with players and their own set of guidelines for behavior,

But over time, we've been hearing from more and more game developers that would actually prefer for us to take a more active role in discussion boards, at least to the extent of handling posts that are reported by other players.

Steam store pages now support that new cutting edge format, the gif...

Now we'll finally be able to have store pages that ages to load because some dev has added a ginormous gif of a cat and a cucumber or some such nonsense. What a time to be alive! :D

Well done Gabe. Truth be told. I have one....used it about 10 times !. I just don't own the big telly at night when the Mrs or my kid use it. Perfect if I am a bachelor.I think it is probably one of the best little buys I have done even if I used it so rarely

Valve is giving more money back to publishers if they make more money. To me this smacks of a reality check to Valve in the light of subscription services. With Take Two and Activision sniffing at the table of Bethesda, EA and Ubisoft, Valve opened their eyes that Steam may become a client for Indie and AA games only.

It kind of sucks for indies and smaller publishers who already struggle to get any prevalence on the store due to the sheer amount of crap that is uploaded onto it on a daily basis. Now they still pay full whack for the privilege whilst the big companies get perks because Valve are worried about losing their revenue.
