The Shining is great, the Wonka film a bit meh imo.

Sapkowski is a dick though. He has made a tidy sum through his book sales, his rights selling to CDPR, and yet more from the book sales from fans of the game. Let's not forget there is also a TV uber-series being mooted (actually more than mooted I think) which will pour more filthy lucre over the fucker.

Stephen King hated the Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining, while Roald Dahl hated the Gene Wilder Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but both are great films.
yep. Having seen the Shining TV show which is more faithful to the book and having given up on the book because it was not very good, I am sorry but Kubrick made a masterpiece from a dunghill of shite. King's idea of scary is laughable compared to what Kubrick delivered on screen

Reports that CDPR have almost reached agreement with Sapkowski to pay him additional royalties, even though they have no legal obligation to do so:

They probably are my favourite dev/publisher.

Reading between the lines, do you think it's safe to assume that another Witcher project is on the go?

I think CDPR hasn't denied that will probably be the case, but I guess this makes it more likely.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, as they've basically said Geralt's story is done and in any future game he won't feature as a protagonist. I worry it will end up a bit ME: Andromeda where you had to ditch the Shepard character you'd invested so much time in. And while I didn't mind MEA (probably one of the few people on the planet who can say that), it was a pale imitation of the previous games.

The next Witcher game will be Ciri as the main character imo.
