What is the context for those comments though? Was he just losing his rag and saying things out of anger directed at some lunatic he was arguing with?

I'm not sure context matters that much when you come out with bile like that.

I've said my peace now, going to move on.

I don't follow any YouTube type closely enough to know much about them (apart from Harry from Harry's Garage and that is just because I read Evo for years - which he founded - and love his channel).

I have always disliked Sterling's 'on-screen' persona just because he can't shut up once he has made his point and has an overblown pomposity about him. Whether that's part of the show is immaterial to be honest, that is how he projects himself and it doesn't work for me.

Funnily I never really associated his image with the far right, I figured it was more some Red Alert style dictatorial silliness. He makes loads of references to games, toys etc that I know nothing about so never took much notice.

I do think he is a tool though.

EDIT: Just watched the entirety of the video that Sly linked though, and he is absolutely on the money, pun intended.

Not that I think it's particularly reasonable or justifiable to say any of those comments he made, but to hold judgement over something without any appreciation or consideration for the wider context of what happened is both lazy and frankly dangerous.

Context always matters.

love him or loathe him, you have to admit he is pretty much spot on when it comes to the abhorrent behavior of publicly owned publishers. Personally I really enjoy his analysis. I know nothing about his history and honestly I could not care less.

It isn't just publishers either, that model applies to any publicly listed company. My work feels like it is just teetering on the edge of another pointless cull, despite their making money by the bushel.

I've never seen this guy before, but just watching the first few minutes of that video was painful enough. The dipshit doesn't seem to know the difference between revenue and profit.

Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are working on new policies to require loot box odds disclosure on their systems....

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/ ... disclosure
The ESA released a list of its member companies that have pledged to release loot box disclosure odds on all new games by the end of 2020. That list includes Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bethesda, Bungie, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast.

Some notable ESA member publishers who haven't made such a commitment include 505 Games, Capcom, CI Games, Deep Silver, Disney Interactive Studios, Epic Games, Focus Home Interactive, Gearbox Publishing, GungHo, Intellivision Entertainment, Kalypso, Konami, Magic Leap, NCsoft, Natsume, Nexon, Rebellion, Riot Games, Sega, Square Enix, THQ Nordic, Tencent, and Marvelous.

Yeah it's pretty skeevy, saw something from one of the Industry groups saying they are aware that it flies close to the bone in terms of being gambling. I mean come on, it's just straight up gambling.
