It might be fake or meant another game called Outer Wild but gods I hope it's not another one to add to the ignore list :(

Epic posted their own Tweet, now removed, that has the Outer Worlds logo in the background, also Heavy Rain.

The news has been out there for several hours and am seeing a lot of negativity on the various news sites reporting it... I feel like if a mistake had been made the devs would have at least tweeted reassurance by now.

Are there even any new games coming out that aren't exclusive to Epic now? They're buying up so many releases, it's getting a bit mad now.

Confirmed...

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/ ... exclusives
A new partnership with Private Division, Take-Two's new publishing label, will see Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Wilds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey made available exclusively through the Epic Games Store when they launch.

And following its exclusivity deal for Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Epic has extended its partnership with Ubisoft to bring more PC releases to its store, including both forthcoming and back catalogue titles. Ubisoft is expected to announce these details at a later date.

Epic is also bringing Quantic Dream's titles to PC for the first time, with Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human set to be exclusive to its store.

Other exclusives confirmed during the State of Unreal keynote included Remedy's Control, Typhoon Studios' Journey to the Savage Planet, Phoenix Labs' Dauntless, Yager's The Cycle, Night School Studio's Afterparty, Frogware's The Sinking City, Proletariat's Spellbreak and more.

Finally, the company announced it is partnering with Humble Bundle to enable developers to sell Epic Games Store titles through the Humble Store, including exclusives.

I was really looking forward to The Sinking City as well.

These guys are playing hard. They have a wad of cash and they are not scared to use it. You can feel that they are trying to buy friends and influencing people. For those who hate Epic and want to play these timed exclusives it becomes a battle of wills. Does Hatred > FOMO or will FOMO > Hatred

Personally I am agnostic and tend to get games on the cheap so FOMO was never an issue.

Oh fuck them in the arse then. I've never touched the windows store either for not trusting Microsoft after the GFWL shit. I am certainly not trusting Epic.

When they start to offer the Games cheap Achtung let me know as so far they have done fuck all to do that. All the prices match Steam versions. There is nothing about the Epic store that is good for us the customers.

Yeah must confess I object to their using exclusivity deals to attempt to strong-arm me into using their store. I am also in the "fuck 'em" camp.

What's FOMO though?

Fear of Missing Out... the phenomenon of a lot of people jumping into games on day one so they can be part of the conversation about them.

FOMO is a new social media phenomenon. having to keep up to date with every toing and froing of your 'mates' in case they're doing something you should be doing too.

its the school playground at large !

"what do you mean you are not playing Apex Legends - loser !"

Analysis from YongYea (I like this guy even if his videos are 2x longer than they should be)

Angry Joe - check out the table 9 min in. The good news is that Epic Store now has a search bar, that's good isn't ! :P

Remedy was also bought

I am not panicking about this because they are all timed exclusives and they will all probably hit Steam or GOG after 1 year and hopefully then they will go cheap. What I fear and this is kind of happening, that the days of 75% - 80% discounts seem to be over. PC games are now selling at a higher price which makes bargain hunters like me nervous. If PC game prices begin to reflect console games, than I will be buying a lot less (which may not be a bad thing given my pile of shame)
