The latest little snafu with the Stadia launch is that not everyone who pre-ordered will be able to play come launch day as their kit might not have arrived. Google said that hardware would start going out on a first-come first-served basis and they expect to get hardware in everyone's hands within two weeks of launch.

The way they talk about these games still obfuscates the fact that you have to buy them individually and don't get access to them through the subscription.

I anticipate most people who buy games via Stadia are all game industry reviewers !!

Stadia will flop harder than someone with flop-sweat wearing flip-flops doing a belly flop.

IGN give up after 40 mins of trying to connect when it launched.

Now that even reports of the 4k resolution is just upscaled 1080 with graphics on somewhat sub par settings. What a launch. And we all knew it was going to be this way. Just like the rest of them in the past.

Placing bets that it disappears in under 5 years as there is no value in it. MS is giving you at the moment (prices will rise in time) $5 a month for how many games to be played in comparison, ouch.

I do maintain that Microsoft are going to steeply increase the price of their Gamepass services in the next few years, as at the moment it feels like one of the best deals in the industry (and it's what Netflix and Amazon did with their own subscription services).

I think Stadia is going to live and die on its mobile-streaming capability, as it's the only part of the service that feels like it's giving the user something unique. I don't think we're yet in an era where mobile data is going to be fast and cheap enough to make this aspect of Stadia worthwhile. Do many of us really need to game on more than one screen in the same house? I just don't think the ability to move between devices is worth the massive downsides of price, latency and uncertainty.

The service will live and die on whether it can either tempt people away from putting money into the new consoles or those who have been interested in gaming in the past but are not willing to pay the upfront cost. It's hard to know how much of a market this situations account for.

On GamePass I think Microsoft will up the price and once xCloud is properly out I expect that to be rolled in at a more expensive tier but I don't see it being massively more expensive for a while. If you wrap streaming and Game Pass together the idea is you want to still make it appealing cost wise and if that is the case you can't make the standard GamePass more expensive.

I'd have thought MS would want GamePass to remain as appealing as it is until they've gained a foothold in the next console gen, starting this time next year. I expect Stadia will be effectively dead by then.
