Do you have any links to the game industry?
Do you have any links to the game industry?
For no particular reason, who here knows people in the games industry?
- I used to walk to school with Cloud Imperium Games' (Star Citizen) new Principal Vehicle Artist; he was the brother of a girl in my year. His announcement of landing that job was my inspiration for making this thread and I am unbelievably envious.
- I went to uni with one of the voice designers at Massive Entertainment, the guys who did The Division 2.

I, uh, used to post on a gaming forum called Praise World, where one of the members worked for Lionhead ¬_¬
And, uh, I currently post on a gaming forum where one of the members is an analyst for the game industry
If you're talking links to 80s TV stars, though, I'm your man. I used to live three doors up from Geoffrey from Rainbow, and Mike the barman from Only Fools lived on the corner of our road.

A guy at my work wrote the music for a game called Elemental Escapades

My sister, who is doing a PhD in Cambridge Uni on historical medicine, acted as the historical medical consultant for a game called Astrologaster, which is due to be released in six weeks' time.
Oh, and my brother-in-law works for the games department of Amazon.com

Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels

A mate of mine is a test lead for EA, and another mate's girlfriend is a PM for the same. Cue hisses and the sign of the evil eye
In my past life as a salesman I sold cars to Donald Pleasance and Barry Foster (Van Der Valk star for the aged amongst you).

I work in games. GSD UK analyst. We will replace GfK charttrack in the summer and yours truely will know the UK digital and physical units sold everyday before anyone else !
I know sales guys and analysts in the industry. I used to work for NPD and used to get quoted when the US monthly numbers come out. My public profile is not as important for the UK and my job has changed somewhat so there is less pressure to put out a press statement.

My mate once did an interview for Mucky Foot Productions about 20 years ago. He didn't get the job. They closed about 3 years later, make of that what you will...

Hmm, I know people in game-industry-adjacent positions from LAN parties. I've been on a few skiing trips many years ago with the now-ex-CEO of Multiplay UK (now part of GAME).
