Sorry chaps it's on its way back to the shop, stealing makes baby Jesus cry [-(

Loving the game, it's very similar to the first but different enough. Think I'm about 6 or 7 hours in..
Spoiler
Just exploring the science museum, it's a wonderful bit of calm in world of chaos
The facial animation, voice acting and graphics are all top notch. The violence is brutal but it's not unrelenting, there's plenty of exploring to be done. Love it.

So I'm about 24 hours into this and end not in sight as far as I can tell. I can honestly say it's just as good as the original and just as gut wrenching, actually it's nigh on merciless in places. It has a few small issues like the dodge mechanic being utter wank and weapon damage can be very inconsistent in places.
Was it worth buying a new console just to play this? Definitely, it's excellent.

One of the things I like in combat is that almost every npc has a name so when you take someone out its like "someone's killed Laura!" as was the case just now. Makes it a bit more believable.

It does try and humanise your enemies alright. Two Scars talking about a dead son moments before I have to spray their brains across a wall (and they do spray and run down the wall..).

Yeah I did notice that just after my post

Seattle Day 2 is about to end with another flashback. I've left it there for this evening. I'm with you, this game is real good.

Edit: Actually no, turns out I'm nowhere near, big game this.

It's a huge game and there's a definite spike in the difficulty later on.

Done it a bit more and I'd say there's also a spike in the jumpscares, nearly shit myself three times in an hour.

Finished it on Friday, took just under 32 hours. Amazing game that loves to repeatedly kick you in the emotional balls with a big hobnailed boot of tragic story telling. If I could reset my memory and play it again for the first time I wouldn't hesitate.

About to start the second half of the story if you know what I mean πŸ™‚

So far it's been quite good. The atmosphere can be overpowering which is why I'm taking it in chunks.
