Yeah, it immediately puts gamepad players at a disadvantage; why would developers choose to support it at the risk of annoying their playerbase?

The only reason would be to really hammer PC crossplay and keep the hoppers segregated.

So given that structural position, we are going to make sure that we keep increasing the strength of the community. You see that already with Minecraft going to all platforms and that increasing the intensity of the community and you'll see us do more of that. Obviously, bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of that.

It's back!
It was a thing MS did in the early 2000s, but canned it in 2010 I believe. Basically its just a bit of an XBox wankfest ala Sony's PlayStation Experience.
As per, there are rumours of 'announcements' of sorts.
