Are we actually certain it's restricted to handheld mode only? I know it's a slightly odd thing to focus on, but it still has the notch in the lower middle of the rear of the console that the original uses to position the USB C port for docking. It seems a little strange to just omit the console's biggest gimmick, though I know Nintendo have done this before with the 2DS.

When you consider that the typical selling price of the standard Switch is £280 with game, a £30-50 saving doesn't seem like much for losing the system's biggest strength.

Yes they have stated clearly that it is handheld only.

I'm sure there will be bundles that add a game for a little extra but I'm not sure where you are seeing Switch bundles for £280 with a game. It's normally around £300 with a game.

My left hand joy-con drifts. I thought my son broke it. Instead of buying another one I got 2 of these instead and they work a treat

I am seeing Nintendo tomorrow at their HQ. Shall I bring it up or be nice and say nothing. Since we wants their money I will be a prostitute and say nothing :-"

It's just really dawned on me how many excellent titles the Switch has. Need to clear my backlog for the console so that I can let myself buy more.

FF8 is out on the Switch today. Been playing it at lunch - I forgot how brutal Triple Triad is at the start! The sharper character models look nice too.

Xenoblade Chronicles from the Wii is getting something of an updated version ported over too. Always wanted to try that game but didn't get around to when I had a Wii.
