WSJ reporting that Nintendo will put out a hardware refresh for the Switch next year. Makes sense they would do something like this to give a boost to sales.

So I bought Pokemon Let's Go Eevee for new year and have put 13 hours in so far, just on my way to the third gym. For a fan of the original games it is brilliant seeing the world of Yellow in such a lovely presented package. The new features that streamline everything are a welcome feature and whilst the game has been fairly easy so far it isn't really like they've ever been challenging anyway.

I was skeptical about buying into this when I saw they'd combined elements of the mobile game with the mainline games, but I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Also, thankful it only has the original 150 again. I really lost the will to carry on when it started getting into generation 3 and 4 numbers, just way too many to care about.

Final Fantasies 10, 10-2 and 12 are coming in April.

I do already own both of these on assorted Playstations, so probably not ones I'll pick up unless they're well priced (£20 or less). I'm still waiting for the upscaled versions of 7 and 9.

Not unusual, especially for Nintendo. I'm more surprised that they teamed up with Bandai Namco again. After Other M I would have thought they wouldn't want them anywhere near the franchise.

I didn't realise Bandai Namco were actually involved; giving the series back to Retro is probably for the best, but the fan in me was really hoping it was closer to release. I really hope they decide to do some form of remaster of games 1-3 as a stop gap, because I'd love to replay them, but I don't really want to go back to SD resolutions.

Made a mistake earlier, thought Team Ninja, who were responsible for Other M, were part of Namco Bandi. They are actually part of Koei Tecmo.

Some tasty sales figures. Smash managed to sell 12.08m copies in it's first month on sale making it the fastest selling Nintendo home console game ever. Pokemon managed 10m and Mario Party 5.3m. Overall Switch software sales for 2018 were up 100% over the previous year.
